From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

been looking out for some k20a2 pistons again. I had pretty much decided to go with forged pistons and rods, but then decided against it. Budget N/A will be slower buy probably more satisfying?

there's a guy on k20a.org selling k20a2 pistons and rods also. $75 shipped, his SN is cstyleaccord, e-mail/paypal is cham@sapcoonline.net. I would have bought them, but the guy with the k20z1 pistons replied to me first.

I've got some A3 pistons right now. They are weird as hell. I'll have to dig up an adaptor for my camera tomorrow so I can post pics. I don't even want to try and describe them other than to say honda uses some weird anti-knock techniques!

Ok, below is a picture of several honda rod/piston combos.

                        From left to right:

                        F22A1
                        K24A4
                        F23A4
                        K20A3
                        JDM H22 PISTON/F23A1 ROD

Now a couple close ups of the k20a3 piston.

That is a really interesting piston design.

I think you'd have enough valve clearance.

Looks like the top of the pistons might hit the head tho.

                            off topic:

Looks like the f22 rod is thicker than the f23 rod. Weird.

The real question I think is would it clear the head if it were a K20A2 piston. The dome on those should be taller than that odd protrusion on the K20A3 piston.

I don't think there'd be a problem with clearance of any sort with that piston. The k20a2 piston is much more like the h22 piston design, but with a slightly taller dome to it. Try to get a good look at the k24a4 piston. It has 2 little mountains between the 2 intake and 2 exhaust valves on an otherwise very dished piston. That makes it impossible to run anything other than stock cams at perfect factory timing in our motors and impossible to run the good iVTEC head. The TSX (k24a2) pistons are more like a normal h/f piston.

It's interesting you noted the difference in the f22 rod to the others. It's significantly beefier, has much wider bearings, uses a bigger BE bore, and has rod studs, not bolts. It's too bad honda decided to use smaller rods for the f23 and mainstreem K-series (the RSX-s, 06+Si, and maybe the TSX use beefier rods, closer to the f/h rod design). Whatever, lighter recripricating mass . That means quicker revs, higher revs, and more HP. Downside is less power can be handled.
