Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

Side note: no one will guess how you remove the pin from f23/k-series pistons unless you've done it...
I'll give you a hint, you need 2 tools, and both are hand tools.

        Good guess. No.
Needle-nose plyers or a pick to remove the pin locks, and a sauce pan. Fill sauce pan with water, heat on stove. When water gets to 160*F place rod/piston into water. Wait 2 minutes. After 2 minutes, remove from water and carefully use your finger to push the pin out of the rod and piston. I didn't believe it so I had to try it.

It worked exactly as supposed. The h/f rods/pistons won't unfortunately.

I just got my K20Z pistons in the mail. I really like the piston design. Hopefully the valve clearances will be OK....I know it works with an F23, because it's already been done. Does anyone know what I'll do about the wrist pin? (Of course I'll be letting the machine shop handle that....but I want to know what they'll do)

If you use the f23, the pins are the same. The f22 will require work that I'm trying to figure out myself.

as in honing out the diameter?

well, they'll either have to bush the rod to the smaller (by .0013in) K20 wrist pin size, or bore the cylinder wrist pin diameter to the F22 size.

I spent over an hour aquiring the service manuals and studying them to try to find out if the difference in wrist pin diameter would be within the service limits.....it's just barely not. SO....I'm back to my previous conclusion....let the machine shop handle it. I don't think it will be a problem tho. Piston to valve clearance is all I'm worried about.

anyone want to see some pics of the k20z1 pistons?

Cooking up a little something different for the NA F22 crowd.

I love the way that k series pistons come off the rods. Just takes a little hot water.

I'm looking forward to seeing some more progress in these ground breaking N/A setups...

This could sway me back to a all motor build...

mine will be coming together pretty soon. My body guy is working faster than I can afford to build my motor. :P So he's pushing me along. I'll just eat hot pockets and drink Budweiser for a month instead of eating out and drinking premium beers.
