Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    F22a1

Hey I'm kinda new to the whole moding the motor thing but yeah I thought this was worth a shot. Well I have a F22a1 in my 93 honda accord LX and I just want to know what some-what easy mods can I do to it. Other then the short/cold ram intake. All opinions are welcome! So yeah thanks everyone!

i'd say start off with basics:
Intake, Header, Exhaust, and a good tune up

then when your in a lil more(after some research ):
H23 Intake Mani, MAYBE a regrind, and a chipped ECU

you'll be happy with that for a while

hopefully by then you'll gain the knowledge and decide what you REALLY wanna aim for in your car

    gl w/ everything

I thought A4/A6 was 92-93 cars and not A1 motors. You sure you have a F22a1 motor in that 93 Accord?

the DX/LX/10th Anniv. 92-93 had the A1s, only the EX/SE had the A6

the A4s came on 90-91 from what i know

            90-93 DX, LX = F22A1
            90-91 EX/SE(?) = F22A4
            92-93 EX/SE = F22A6

Not sure if the 91 SE came with an a6 but i think it might have been an a4 i dunno.

The topic of which engine comes in which trim is so old.

The a1 came in all 90-93 DX, LX, And 10th AE.
The A4 came in the 90-91 EX, And some 92-93 LX for some odd reason.
The A6 came in the 91SE, 92-93 EX and SE

for a beginers mod list, i don't see any more mods than that

on the Intake Mani, i'd have to say when mated with an A6 camshaft and ECU, you'd definitely be expecting AT LEAST 8hp and one hella mean sounding engine, lol

it'll definitely bump up that stock power band also

I've seen a 91 SE with the A6 in it, but i was really looking for an A4 for the exhaust manifold. I heard it flows just as good as an aftermarket DC or Megan header.

I'm getting a little confused on the "a4" "a6" stuff! lol A little help would be nice! But yeah so the h23 IM being bolted on my F22a1 along with a new ecu can be better?

whole lot better, you get a noticable gain, the revving will sound nice and roary, power band will be a lil higher, plus it's the best bang for the buck!!!

in the US it's basically the different revisions of the F22 engine.

the F22A1 i think completely in stock form is 125hp.
the F22A4 i think is 130 or 135, the difference is basically the exhaust manifold being a tubular design.
the F22A6 has 140hp stock from what i hear the A6 engine has a slightly more aggressive cam, a better flowing air intake over the other two engines and the ECU.

the JDM F22a is basically the F2a6 stat wise.

oh nice! thanks for the info! Yeah I guess I'll be looking into the h23 IM? I'm probably going to be getting headers and intake. I don't want a fart can exhaust but yeah we can i get a chipped ECU that is at a reasonable price?
