Please DO NOT Post In The General Section
From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.
The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.
For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.
Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.
Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

change of plans...to reach my 300hp mark with just a 86mm bore would be pretty crazy.
im just going to find another block, sleeve to 88 or 90mm's and get custom pistons. in the mean time i will build this bottom end to be bullet proof, do a minor port on a f22 head that i have sitting around, get stainless steel valves and make this all a nitrous motor.
ill have extra clearances which is also good for the induced heat when racing. i just want to finish a motor right now so i can have some fun with a built motor.
gonna shoot for 150shots maybe run a dual stage, hehehehe

i ran an auto-x at a privately held event so it just needed to pass tech. before my co-driver went out, it blew a seal somewhere around the front of the motor. i want to say the balance shaft seal went out becausr the leak isnt consistent however my co-driver still made it out. we just pushed it back in line and didnt turn the car on until staging.
the motor that is in it right now is a decent runner. jdm f20a so not much balls but revs higher than stock. im able to spin 225's coming out of a corner.
im thinking of fixing the oil leak, new timing belt sine it is soaked in oil after this weekend and start adding nitrous sine im opting for a nitrous setup for my next built motor. gonna start with a 50 shot and possibly move up to a 75. our next "racing" meet will be at the drag strip.
slowly but surely.

trying to get my bearing clearances squared away. as of right now with used green bearings im hitting about .0013 on the mains and .0012 on the rods. i still have about half a thous to hone on the rods so it should bring me to .0018-.002.
as for the mains im hoping i can polish the crank and knock a few tenth's and bring me to .0016-.0018.
ACL bearins on its way.

30 or 40 weight, brad penn or amsoil. (not for break-in of course)
my AAA membership is about to expire so im gonna see if i can get the project car flatbedded to my work. that way i can get some peeps to do a full on rollcage and fix the oil leak problem.
im hoping to pull a low 15 on the strip. remember thats with the stock F20a that is in it with probably some bolt ons.Last edited by wed3k; 05-25-2008, 03:24 PM.

I think you should consolidate all major work done on car into a list on the first page of this thread. Would make it easier to get a summary of what you have done. Seems like you're basically stripping this 91 EX coupe down to the basics and really going to use it as a race car. Good luck. I'm still confused on what your final engine plans are as they have changed over time and as I said, not consolidated in one area. What tranny you have installed for this motor?

$1150 just for the short block.
thats just for parts, i havent included the cost for machine work which should all be free excpet 150 bucks for the align hone. i had to send that out because we didnt have a small enough mandrel.
im wondering what price would i give to people for a complete short block.
150 for algin hone
300 for bore/hone
100 for true decking
still have deburring, retapping all the holes, checking clearances, fitting the oil pan pickup and stuff like that.
