Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

-rod housing bores needed to be resized
              -crank falls within std specs
-received new dowels so im gonna install the mains and girdle and check the mains

if all works well, the bearings should be on its way.

I saw weight values written on your rods so you will be balancing your rods after the resizing, right?

                    mains are big by .001"

might need to cut and align hone down but i want to check the available bearing thicknesses first from honda.

                      scratch that...

after measuring my old main bearings, the housing bore and journal on the crank...my clerances are acceptable but for racing, ill need to get them as close to each other as possible. no fucking around.

im shooting for .0015 clearances for my mains using honda oem's. im gonna get fucking raped on the price since i can get ACL standard main ebarings for 30 bucks as opposed to 90-100 for oem.

i still might get them coated as well so ill need to ask next door how much should i compensate for that. ill create a thread soon hopefully to discuss more about bearings.

time = money and i dont have much money, just a machine shop

i antisipate the bottom end to be done in a month, cylinder head to be done in 2 months after that and probably assembled and into the car another 2 months after that.

before the motor goes in, i want to make sure my transmission, fuel, ignition and the entire car is setup for racing.

the ultimate goal is the honda challenege and with this hybrid motor it means im running in the H1's. i really dont think ill get 1st place but seat time is seat time.

8 dollars a set to coat main bearings.

so it may end up costing me 140 bucks just for the main bearings and about 40-50 bucks on the rods.

this is getting expensive but luckily i work two jobs now :o
