Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    h23 head swap...

however it is running likle total crap...misfiring, hesistating, running way rich, stalling.

    got two? CEL's

8: TDC...looks like ill be doing the timing belt again to fix this

and like a long flash-puase-long flash

the h23 timing belt is WAAAAY loose, so lose that it hits the timing cover and makes a loud ass clacking sound.

the apexi exhaust is somewhat quiet

man, the gsr fit perfectly...i still have like 2/3 space to tighten it if i wanted to.

          two problems now...

running WAYYYY rich still (but i was told it'd run rich with the p14 ecu)

          and

          idling pretty rough

first it wouldnt really idle, so i changed back to the stock accord injectors which were cleaned professionally.

so how do you advance the timing? counter or clockwise? (turning of the distributor)

hmm, so all that smoke might actually be the head gasket and not it running rich.

i checked the spark plugs and they dont look terrible, meaning back to step one.

im gonna bring the head to some place and see if the surfae it totally flat, maybe mill it a bit to raise the compression.

turning the dizzy away from you is advancing and the opposite is retarding. I THINK thats right. do you have a timing gun?

                    like what?

how come its taking you like forever to get your timing belt right? i just adjusted mine and it took like 1/2 an hour, at the most. its not that hard.

As far as i remeber you cant just hook the timing light up and check your timing, you need to jump the computer to the CEL mode and do it that way, thats how your supose to do it with a stock motor, but with having a Chipped ECU i'm not entirely sure if you can get a dead on reading with just throwing it on the plug and going .....

try spraying some brake parts clean around your manifold/vacuum hoses...could be a leak.

its not the timing belt thats wrong, im taking the whole head off again and checking if the surface is true.

the white smoke is most likely coolant.

Facing the dizzy housing, counter-clockwise is advancing the ignition timing.

Are you stating you didn't get the head resurfaced when you received it for the swap? Did you just swap it on?

I swear I should start charging like a full-time mechanic, I probably do a better job than most.

yea i just swapped it on in hopes that it would worked.

the machinsit said that the head was actually okay...but i went ahead and resurfaced it anyways, dont want to take any chances this time.
