Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    rear exhaust section removal?

yeah i bought a greddy evo 2 axle back exhaust section from my friend but i cant seem to unboly the 2 exhaust bolts right beside the rear wheel....is there a trick to getting it off or something? ive tried an impact wrench and covered those damn bolts in rust remover time and time again even though its not rusty and the damn thing still doesnt come off... help. thanks

Spray on some WD40, or somethin better like PB Blaster. The way I did it was get a wrench on it, either socket or box end, and just hit it with a rubber mallet. Even if it doesn't feel like its moving, it is. Let me know if you need more help.

yeah i tried that with a breaker bar even before the torque/impact wrench and now the bolt end is starting to strip. the little bastards are on there good and ive sprayed every spray there is on it to. it just wont budge. the bolt is facing towards the back of the car... so i push up on it/counter-clockwise right?

Yes. Make sure the bolt is not turning on the other side. Try hammering it, because its like a burst that forces it to turn (for lack of better wording). Either that, or cut the nut or bolt off.

i'm a big fan of cutting things or just kicking it......a little TLC is all it needs

wd40+breaker bar+impact wrench and if all elese fails use a torch, heat up the bolts then walla it is off.

IMO You may have to take down the whole exhaust, from the flex pipe or header back. Once you get the exhaust on the ground you can use a 1/2" breaker bar to remove it. The ground will stabilize the exhaust so you can get more direct torque on the nut. Let me know if this helps.

            Peace

Also that would give you more room to work, BUT if you can't get one of those bolts loose what are the odds that you can get the other loose?

IMO I would just cut the bolts off, but then again its fun to cut stuff off

              Good Luck!
