Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

the coil will be good, id go with a MSD SS coil its smaller.

but if you want some serious spark go with MSD 6al ignition box and a MSD blaster coil.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

          ^^^he's right^^^

But if you still insist then yea just get an external coil and a 6a box.

Even thought I have purchased (not installed yet) a MSD 6a ignition box, MSD blaster SS coil and later probably a MSD cap as well...I have talked to some knowledgeable and experienced people into Hondas and they all agree that the stock ignition is sufficient and for some they say it's more reliable actually. Some say the MSD system gets flaky after a while. 2point6 is one of the people I've talked to.

Anyways, I'll have to just see what happens and find out for myself since I already have the stuff.

well i have the msd sci ignition box, blaster ss coil, msd cap , msd superconductor wires and there was a big difference (gas mileage, acceleration, smoother idle, less emission) had these mods for i dunno around 42k miles and i have had NO issues at all.

as for people saying that the stock crap can handle blah blah blah....yea it can handle it but do u really wanna put that much more stress on a system??????????? less strain on the system=better performance, better reliablility, and longer lasting parts!!!!! u never cheap out on stuff like this. cheap out on the strut tower bar yes but not one of the 3 things that makes your car run lol. when u do the igntion system upgrades....do it all at once...save yourself time, money and a few headaches your only as strong as your weakest link....

our cars were meant to handle the stock power.....it was made to handle 120-140ish hp......when u start modding, spark/fuel/air must must must be upgraded......

compare a cb7 with a few mods and a crappy upgraded ignition system and then compare a cb7 with a few mods that has a good ingition system......good ignition system rules and will last longer! and will keep them emissions arseholes away from ya lol

on my 300zx all i did was upgrade the coil to the SS coil and thats it, stock rotor and cap cause there wasnt any aftermarket stuff and it seemed to have more kick and more torque.

all the wires were new though...so if you just want something for now then just do the coil. i noticed hella easier starts and a smoother idle.

it cost me like 60 bucks i think with warrenty and stuff.
