Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Milling Head

Sorry if this is been posted before, but I searched old threads and couldn't find the info I needed.

So I'm thinking about milling my head .020"-.030" and getting a Delta 272 cam regrind. The cam will increase the lift of the valves(I think), am I going to run into interference problems??

          A1/A4: 1.5167"
          A6: 1.5252"

So the a6 cam IS different...interesting. To ensure u don't run into any problems clay the motor.

I'll get the exhaust lift specs tomorrow but they also differ between the two cams.

wait a minute...it can't have a full inch of lift that's insane...can u re-check your specs cause even the 272 regrind only has like .390" lift and extremely agressive cams only have like .450"+

You have to subtract base circle from that measurement. So why it has that value instead of the value minus base circle is beyond me but I don't have a cam out to mic. so you're on your own on that. That's just what Chilton's, in all their realms of wisdom, put on the spec chart.

So if someone were to take a stock F22a1/a4 and F22a6 cam and use a micrometer to measure perpendicular to lobe on the cam, you would find the diameter of the base circle and could subtract it.
