i had them on my valve cover and my intake tube on my old motor. I would always get a little bit of oil in the intake through the intake tub breather. With the filters, the valve cover filter caught the oil. Cheap catch can I guess

ain't that where the oil supposed to go to get returned ? i know its a vent to release pressure on the valve train . but the little bit of oil that does go through there ain't that to lube the intake? or have i bean miss lead ?

No, you have been mislead. The flow of air through a smooth pipe does not require a lubricant.

You had it right with your last post, it just doesn't lubricate anything. Pressure builds up the in head with the oil moving all around the engine and the pistons coming down at the crank case, and the tubes just give it somewhere to go to be burned off: into the intake manifold. I had one of those filters on my H because I didn't want to use the tube when I got an aftermarket intake, which I sealed up. My filter never collected any oil, but there is that other tube going directly into the manifold.

I once screwed up an oil change and put too much in. It ended up going through those tubes and into the intake, and of course all of that burned up and went out through the exhaust... lots of smoke .
