I've noticed this thread pop up every once in a while, and thought I had thrown my opinion in; but after skimming the posts realized I hadn't.
I think you're going about this kinda wrong. Stripping your car piece by piece will shave a few tenths off, but it won't get you to 13.99 alone. With your current setup you would need to have the car at roughly 2400-2500lbs with you in it. I don't really see that happening. You need more power, and a decent amount of it. But then you're not manning up and getting the Big Boy Parts like you should.
I know I sound like a broken record on this forum by now, but I gotta say it again; Go Big or Go Home...... or in your case, sit in the stands at the strip and watch the better cars make their passes.
Now I know some might disagree with me, but I personally have a lot of respect for cars with full interiors/features who can still throw down on the track. The whole gutted out thing to me doesn't make it seem like a car anymore, just a steel cage on wheels. But do what you want in that matter, I know everyone won't take that viewpoint.
Now however you want to make it, you need to decide how to up your power output. I would go towards the bottom end to the midrange of your powerband so that you can get going alot sooner. Mahle 11.5 pistons with perhaps some Bisimoto/Ferrea/Supertech High Comp Valves would definitely be on the initial list. Do some passes, to lock in on your best pass, and then adjust accordingly.
