From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

    bisi sohc cammed daily drivers

A couple questions for those of you with bisi or other aftermarket cam in your f22a1 powered street cars.

I just picked up a h23 92 prelude with a seized motor and am planning on swapping in the cammed f22a1, I have run this motor on the track only and on track and around the pits the car acted great with no problems at all. It also had no ac, ps, muffler, cruise, radio, or any need to be civilized and it has been almost two years since I last ran it.

How different will it be in a street car that I plan on driving down the highway and to work, on a date, and possibly around the track?

Anybody have regrets about the cars manners or reliability?

    AC at idle speed?

    cold mornings?

I'm running an Exospeed stage one with no problems at all. I wouldn't have known if the receipt hadn't been mixed in with some other old paperwork in the car.

I have a JGE 240200 cam, it's very close to Bisi's lvl 2, it literally behaves like stock to the fullest, not a single complaint. Idles fine even @ 750, but mines set @ 1000 w/ IACV blocked off.

        Specs:
        intake: 402 lift 254 duration
        exhaust: 396 lift 250 duration
        lift is @ 0.015

I wished my cam was more extreme, I was shocked that it didn't affect the idle or low end.

I'm confused. Its 254 degrees at .015" for the intake and 250 degrees at .015" for the exhaust? That makes no sense.

          Whats the LSA?

Yeah, I typed that way to fast, yeah, 254 degrees of duration for the intake, 250 degrees of duration of the exhaust @ 0.015". Those are JG's specs on the cam.

The cam is a regrind, I do not know what the lobe sep angle is for stock or this cam, the #'s I posted are the only things I know about it. I don't know why JG measures their duration @ 0.015".

update, car runs very well, ac is no problem, but gas mileage could be better ~26 now

yea, I get 30mpg with a Gude Cam (similar specs to stg2), H23 IM, DC sports header w/ H22 downpipe and 2.5" exhaust. Thats also untuned on a PT6 and EGR deleted.

Engine will b cold, and I used the proper valve lashin tool.

This is gonna sound stupid... and I no this has no affect on the rods, but both times I did the valve lash, both engines resulted in rod knock, maybe the engines were just tired. 1 was b20a5, 2nd was f22a6. I also had help still ticked, the f22a6 we redid it 3 times and always ticked. Engine had 160k on it, and it wasn't a injector type click, it was a clicky clack sound. Like dam, his valves need 2 b adjusted.

I feel dum just sayin, ya I did a valve lash and a few miles later it ended with rod knock.

If they are making a lot of noise, figure out what side it is coming from and go a little tighter.

Are you guys revving the crap out of the cars and driving them really hard after adjusting the valves?

                              Sounds more like piston slap.
