Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

the build blew a headgasket. no internal damage just the gasket. just an attest to only use honda oem gaskets or bisi's stuff. but the engine fires right up and idles smooth as silk while drinking h2o. it amazes me. i guess i just wanted to state for the all motor guys out there, dont skimp on the small parts either, it'll come back to bite you in the ass.

felpro. i talked to someone at the time of the build and they said ok. my machinist said i needed something stronger.....now i ordered a 5 layer one from bisimoto. it'll be here sometime next week. all is good. it isnt mixing water and oil. just burnig water. i run it for a little bit today. still runs great. it just uses about 6-8oz of water a day. so i parked it. now im driving one of the enemy. i'll give you a hint......zoom zoom, lol.

Glad you shared this. I've always been a OEM fan, even more so after getting my hands on various aftermarket products on my white build. Can't touch the quality and fitment.

Make sure to inspect the valve guide seals while you have the head off too and replace if necessary.

i think it was the head more so now than the gaskets fault. it seems as though there is a dip in the walls between the combustion chambers. i believe it is the culperate. its fine though, i have another head prepared to go on it soon.

Do you think the head defect was from prior machining or warpage due to heat? Was there significant head milling done prior?

no, i don't think it was due to heat. i talked to the guy that does my machine work, he said there was no sign of a blown head gasket but there was sign of the car running extremely rich. i swear im in desperate need of taylor to tune the car again. i tried someone else at the shop i usually go to and they messed it all up. it's ok though, im making a few adjustments while she's down.
