Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    3"inch exhaust N/A h22?

Just wanted to share this info with all the N/A h22's. Since I see the majority of us go 2.25 or for the average 2.5. I've even seen some people who are boosting with a 2.5 exhaust. Not only have I heard from a couple of people in brooklyn, ny where I live, that 3 inches is the way to go. Now I have proof. So check it out and post comments

So is the 3inch exhaust the RIGHT exhaust piping to go with?

Because all i have is headers 2.25 piping custom exhaust and SRI. Im really trying to go back to SILENT mode. Being the 2nd reason to have more back pressure. Since i did felt the difference losing the back pressure.

If you aren't trying to suck every usable horsepower from your H22, then 2.5 is fine. If you are going for power, 3" is good.

Well honeslty im just trying to go back to stock sound. That being said i would need to be going 2.00piping on stock Dual tip muffler. Is that fine?

well said fatboy. Angel even if you have a stock f22 I would go at least 2.25 with a stock muffler or a upgraded muffler and resonator you will still have stock sound. What makes the exhaust louder is deleting the cat and resonator and having just str8 pipe which I have . I live in brooklyn,ny and street racing is heavy here alot of guys doing the h2b swap and 3inch you get the most of you h22. No stock pans because you don't need that much back pressure upgrade to an apexi exhaust or greddy something that 3inches so the motor could breathe. hope this helps some people. I better not see anymore turbo setups running 2.5 lol jk

I always got frustrated when people would tell others on this forum that they should go 2.5". I've seen graphs a long time ago showing the difference a 3 inch exhaust can make.

The main argument is that back pressure equals velocity which in turn equals a better scavenging effect on the engine. From everything I've ever read is that ANY back pressure is bad. You want to get your exhaust out of your exhaust system as fast as possible without building up pressure. I've not yet installed my 3" exhaust goodies yet, but I'm curious how it will preform.
