Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

thats pretty good. i removed the engine out of my project civic in 4.5 hours.

the civics seem harder than the accords. everything is so crunched in there and 5 motor mounts wtf?

Really? I've worked on 4 different civics(ef and eg) and all were much easier to work on than accords. Teggies...now THOSE are a pita.

Anyways, the motor runs. We had a small coolant leak where the water pipe goes into the block. I tried using jb stick at first with no luck. so then I had to remove that shit(what a pita after it dries).

Then we swapped front suspensions. He is now sporting Nuespeed Race springs with Tokico HP's(for now). We'll do the rears tomorrow.

But the motor purrs No other leaks besides that one. We've had it idling for 20 minutes now. We can't find 4 lugs nuts lol, hopefully we'll be able to tune her tonight.

Pics of what? It's just another swap and it looks like a bone stock single cam, lol. We didn't take pics of the actual swap, so that's a negative on that. We took some random pics tho of some wheel bearing destroying madness.

Wes, I used copper permatex since I didn't get a chance to go to Honda to get some. I usually do tho.

Just came back from tuning it. AFR's are just about set. Timing is still pretty retarded and it's having some slight detonation issues. It's running zfr6's, so I'm thinking that's the cause for the detonation. Gonna put some 7's in it and take it for another spin.

But it feels good up until the top end. This motor has A LOT of restrictions right now. Intake(2.5 cai), exhaust(super duper crushed dp) and the biggest restriction of all, the cam. It pulls to 7k, but doesn't want to go any further really.

I don't think my goal of 180whp will be reached. Not with that cam.

haha, yep. You know what I was thinking about. I was telling Alex about that night.

Just finished swapping the rest of the suspension and we're gonna slap on my 3" intake as well as the 4091 spark plugs and give it another go.

                              is 4091 a different name for zfr-7f11?

And good stuff man, the more F builds there are, the better the F can get.

No. NGK 4091's are R5671A-7's, non resistor type plugs.

We put those in and the car ran a bit smoother but no real gains were found. The timing is still fairly retarded for what it should be. I'm not exactly sure why it's detonating at such low timing I'm sure the leaking valve seals on the head aren't helping.

We didn't use my 3" intake, so w/e. But I think the restriction may be within the exhaust. The fuel curve peaks around 4.8k and then just falls rapidly. Usually, the fuel curve is very similar to the torque curve. A torque curve falling rapidly indicates a restrictive exhaust. It's currently an ebay header/(super crushed dp), stock cat, to the ws2 cat-back. I'm leaning more towards the stock and more than probable clogged cat, and the .5" dp.

It is what it is for now. I'm guesstimating around 160whp. It pulls to 7k, but you can tell it wants more but something is choking it. The motor feels good all over tho. Gonna do a compression test in a bit.
