Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

adding a H23 throttle body w/o other mods?

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but I'll ask anyway.

My '92 Accord LX has only a cone filter at the end of the OEM rubber snorkel. Otherwise it's all stock. Eventually I'm planning on turboing the F22A1, so I don't want to waste money on a header or 2.5" exhaust right now (I'll go 3" when it's turboed).

I got a H23 throttle body cheap. I'm wondering if putting it in now will help top end HP at all (probably not) and either way, will it affect my driveability/gas mileage in a negative way until I have FI or cams or at least a high-flow cat and bigger exhaust to help increase airflow?

h23 is 2mm larger....dunno if that would account for such differences...but i couldn't tell ya for sure

true, but also the h23 tb can be bored out more than an f22 tb (64mm max compared to 58mm max) which would have a higher flow rate if you boost it.
      what tedious question?

H23 throttle body wont fit on your f22a1 intake manifold.

you have to switch to a whole h23 intake manifold with tB

or a whole f22a6 manifold. but you cant run the h23 TB on the A6 manifold, so you have to have the top h23 plenum with h23 top plenum.

        does that make sense?

The F22 tb is 58mm on inside bore and 60mm on outside (closest to intake piping).

H23 tb is 60mm on inside and 62mm on outside bore (closest to intake piping).

So which area are you referring to specifically in terms of being able bore and to what dimension.

I also wondering if by simply installing a larger TB, how much of a difference does it really make if you don't do intake manifold and/or cylinder headwork to support this modification. I think you won't get anything beneficial, unless you follow through. But I haven't tested that out to find out for sure.

Would you guys like me to go take some pics with size chart showing the throttle body comparison? I have both out of my car and i can show you guys the exact size. The H23 will not fit on the f22 but the H23 top plenum with the Throttle body will fit on the a6 mani.
