Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    ITB's for N/A F22A1 Project

I'm thinking of another idea for my N/A F22 project. I want to try to fabricate ITBs, but I don't know where to start. Will this eliminate the intake setup or not? Also I tried research for this but there's limited to no information. If anybody knows which modifications will need to be done or if or ITBs from another source will work, any info will be very helpful.

    Thanks, peace.

yes, you would use the itb's in place of the intake manifold. wed3k is doing an h23 itb setup i think, search his name for the thread

Thanks for the info. I looked at wed3k's project, should be sick when completed. I forgot one more thing. What ECU swap would be appropriate for the ITB setup? Has anybody done this setup before on an F22A1?

The easiest is modifying a Honda motorbike throttle body.

        CB6600RR comes to mind.

if you want to make the entire thing yourself...

Sign up on SAE.org as a student for $10 and you can download a lot of documents on how to make a proper individual throttle body system.

download Solidworks, or even better Ansys, from a torrent site so you can do some air flow analysis; these programs will help you make a bunch of extra power.

        have fun

you would have to do a customer ecu setup with tuning for the itbs. they will not be benificial really unless you actually do the math as to how big and how long to make the itbs. it takes much more math and research than people think.

Will do about the fun part. J/K. Thanks for the information. I'll try to do that SAE information, if not, I'll see what info I can dig up about fabricating the CB6600RR setup.

Oh, crap. That ECU setup is probably going to hold me back a little bit then.

indeed. i like to see it as do the simple math and get your horns and everything into approximation of the lengths. adjust accordingly once it is ont he car or near completion because you will be able to change the length via horns and the rubber coupling. i dont suggest welding the throttle bodies onto the runners.

i need to find time to complete my angled flange so i can send it out to get it welded but im just procrastinating. i need ot get the project car race ready within the next month.

ITB's are the last part of your engine that you should be considering. I personally found out just how much goes into a proper setup. I've had my DIY GSXR 1000 ITB's built and ready to go for well over a year Now. I'm just finally getting to rebuilding the engine to handle them.

I would think long and hard on how much $$$$$ & time your willing to spend for a set of ITB's. Do as much reading as you can. Not only about Honda's but individual throttle bodies in general. There are enough cars out there that use them you should be able to find the same research data that I found. Google is your friend. Because without having an engine that will back them up your just wasting your time.
