Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    1g DSM BOV

What is the difference between crushed and uncrushed? I'm looking into a 1g to complete my DSM turbo kit. Just wondering what are pros and cons of them. I'm a turbo noob if your all wondering. Lol

Crushed bov, is a first gen "metal" dsm pressure relief valve that has been crushed so it doesnt open until the intake manifold sees large vaccum. If done properly it will allow it to remain in boost between shifts thus faster et's.
I personally have a regular uncrushed BOV dsm first gen! It works fine and sounds good. But I would like to remain in boost between shifts so I may go with either hks ssqv or something similar!

It is also crushed to withstand more psi. Or so i have been told. Most people crush it so they can run 21+ psi, i don't know what it does or how but that is what i was told. I have a dsm 1g uncrushed and it works fine never failed, and sounds sexy i think. But i am going to be putting on a greddy type-s if i can find one or a greddy type rs with the new build, They mate up to the dsm flange But don't get a 2g dsm bov they are plastic

keep your foot down on the gas if you want to keep boost up between shifts.

yes but with the stock dsm it will blow off as soon as you depress the clutch, try it! I know from experience! Even wot, it will. Thats a main reason they do that! And holds more boost without as much leakage!

14bs are to small for f22s. my mistake with sticking with one. im pretty sure ill like it tho. if you want to go turbo, go big or go home. at least get a 16g so you could whip ass every night. but the guy i was getting the turbo from had a dsm bov, but told me to go with the xs one cus there better and extremly LOUD. good luck.
