Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

Sorry for bringing this back from the dead, but i have changed my setup a bit, mostly the cam. I am now running the delta 262 cam, fully built head and block just stock sleeves and crank. Before i said i was gonna hit 8000 rpm, but this is a daily driver and reliability is important to me. I am now wondering if 6600rpm pretty much every day and 7000rpm on special occassions is safe on this setup?

I know d112crzy said ill be fine but this was with the 282 cam. I know i have to see where power is made on a dyno, but my tuner is doing a full street tune first (dyno later in the year) and i *think* that 6600-7000 rpm is still in the efficiency (sp) range of the turbo/cam. Im mostly concerned if its safe or not for our F22 SOHC motors, specifically the piston speed with the 95mm stroke...

my motor is on rev limit at 7600rpm, like flailing of rev limit burning the tires off, just about every time i drive the car. its been taking it for over a year with no adverse affects i can see. use good oil (read royal purple or amsoil)

A 260 regrind is nothing to be worried about. I doubt you'll make it past 7k with it.

It's not the piston speed you should be worried about, it's the force put on the pistons/rods/bearings. But since you've upgraded everything, you'll be fine.
