    Which FMIC for 4th Gen?

I'm slowly getting my turbo kit together and I hope to have it complete by November if all goes well.

I just don't know which affordable front mount to go with. I'd like something that doesn't require excessive modification to mount. I don't mind cutting up the bumper cover some to fit it but the less I have to custom make the cheaper the kit turns out.

What's everyone's expeirence with FMIC's on the 4th gen? Any recommendations?

pretty much any fmic can work.. just getting the custom piping to work is the "harder" part... go to any junkyard and you should be able to find one suitable to your needs

almost every turbo 4th gen I have encountered is running on a Spearco or Revhard FMIC (all with custom intercooler piping). I can't remember the size off the top of my head but every one required extensive cutting to the stock bumper. the intercooler piping itself is probably the one of the toughest parts of the installation. I'd give RevHard a call; they offer several different sizes of intercoolers that might fit your requirements.

I'm having a local shop here that does basically all the Turbo and exhaust work here in Mia make my charge piping and down pipe.

It's going to be about $250 for everything Mandrel bent.

I'm going to be running less then 10 psi and really am not keen on cutting my bumper reinforcement. I also want to keep the whole sleeper theme going and a huge polished FMIC might comprimise that

The one that fizzbob7 displayed there looks alright. I guess my best bet is to get the FMIC from a junkyard and work with that?

fizzbob7 do you have one of those around your place? And why does the color of the FMIC matter so much? Because black attacts heat?

Wow, I was just about to come on here and ask about all this. I was looking at my Accord and wondering how a FMIC could possibly fit in there. Would a DSM intercooler work alright?

im not postive on this but i doubt ud lose boost pressure as compared to a very bigger intercooler..
i mean ill admit they are long but there only 5x2 5inches tall and 2 inches wide.. lol.. thats very small

                    edit
and ud still keep that sleeper look

I personally would go with either the ones in the new graddy turbo kit, or the spearco.

how much money are you looking to spend? those name brand IC can get way up there in price and could even cause pressure drop because some of them are so big.

check your local junk yards for FMIC cars and see which one would suit your needs

My brother bought a Spearco for his car and let me tell you it's super super nice. A real quality product. However the damn thing cost $500!!! I don't know about you but that's pretty high IMO.

His is not large so he won't suffer any pressure loss. If anything it will help him.

I personally like the no nmae ones that are circulating on eBay right now. They are tailored just right for our CB7's.
