Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

No track this weekend. My motor mount is way to fucked and I have a suspicious knocking noise under acceleration, not under free-rev. It's loud, but it's not a fast noise, so I hope hope hope it's not rod knock.

Ohwell, sorry guys. Next time update will be with the built head providing this block doesn't take a shit.

that knocking noise under the accelerator, i had that problem too, people told me it was my motor mounts, never replaced/repaired them but after a couple of weeks the noise was gone. is its like a thumping sound?

You said you just worked on your suspension/brakes, I'd say do a good check of everything to make sure it's not something loose/broken etc. Could me a control arm/tie rod or something. Motor noise would be on accel/or cruise normally just quieter when you are cruising. Use your ears till you find what it is and see if you can get someone else who knows cars to ride with you and see if they can help you pinpoint the problem.

Thanks for the input and about the motor mounts, YES the driver's side is totally shitted on, so I am pretty sure that's the issue. It doesn't sound brutal, well, to me at least, so I'm not THAT worried about it but it was scary last night in the hard ass rain.

Anyway, I want to try and do the alignment if we slow up here at the shop, but I doubt we will. I am going to raise the front up a bit so I'm definetly going to double check on the parts. Thanks again for the input!

I'm a dumbass and went to the track and ran anyway. I hate not having a 2step, launching sucks especially when you have to build 9psi in like .125 seconds.

Here are my times, I'm pissed at the times, but stoked at the Trap speeds.

            First:
            15.2 @ 101 mph
            Second:
            14.7 @ 103-104 mph

First one was garbage, terrible launch. 3.0 60ft. Second run was a better 2.6, I think, 60ft but I spun 1000m down the track. The last few hundred meters I was pulling on an SRT4 with mod's, but neither times were impressive at all.

The track was scary. After the 1/8 mile the steering got real squirrelly for FWD, RWD, and AWD cars. Not to mention, I was mentally not prepared to run and real nervous about really really breaking something because of the bad mount.

Ohwell, those traps make me happy, so next time I run I better see 13's easily.

Yeah I'm stoked. My cylinder head is getting a mild performance rebuild right now, and I've acquired a pair of slicks, all be it they're kinda big, but traction in 1st and 2nd is a freaking joke on the strip....and street for that matter.

                Remember, all stock interior.

It's either your axles, lower ball joints or motor mounts

Besides prodigymb are there any DSM Accords in the 13s? What's the advantage of a turbo Accord over an H22 Accord?

couple guys in the area could have probably put down 13's w/dsm setups if their engines lasted long enough for them to make it to a track...

14.3 on a stocker is very impressive. I remember the 16g days I thought i would never brake 14.5. So 2 thumbs up. When you start to run those kind of times, you will find out quick that lowering and better tires do not mix. you might want to try 94+ front springs or some coilovers.

I have coilovers. D2 full coilovers, front/rear strut bars, yoko tires w/ ITR wheels, front/rear brake upgrades. With the smaller diameter wheel/tire combo, this sucker spins through the 1st two gears. I preloaded the front springs and it seemed to help, but these weak motor mounts are killing me, so Wayne is sending me an extra set to urethane.

Thanks for the compliments, I was stoked when I was in stock form and ran a 14.3, then went off into the grass/mud and drove 30 minutes home. 350-400 miles to a tank at that.

Many upgrades to come, and when 12's knock, the car will completely change.

i ran a 14.1 with only bolt-ons, cams and tuning (stock jdm h22a header, $50 exhaust, ebay short ram)

i'm sure it was capable of 13's with one or two more tweeks, because i never got my cams dialed in perfectly

maybe even a better suspension setup, because that was all on street tires with meager suspension work
....and on the 7th day, deevergote rested and called his mom.

Was that your old brown LX? I didn't know you had cams in it. I thought you just had a clutch, a P28 and exhaust? Did you ever get to test out your H'd coupe?

I know your brown LX hit 13.999 without spray at one point.
