Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

So if I go to a junkyard...

Basically I would like to find a turbo Eclipse, Talon, Laser and get the turbo parts off it. Preferably a 2nd gen. What would be worth taking. I don't mind rebuilding one. I can probably bring some tools out there to get some of it, so what should I bring? I know many of you guys have pulled this stuff from the yards, so your input would be GREATLY appreciated. Also I can grab some stuff for anyone while i'm out there as well, let me know.

I knew about the injectors, but thanks for looking out.
2nd gen. turbo = better, less miles FTW.
1st gen. BOV, really? I would have thought they were the same or worse
Still no ideas on tools guys? guess I'll keep searching...

Ok, will do. But I heard the 2nd gen. Manifold was better, is that true?
Oh and what years are the 1st gen. and 2nd gens?

1st gen BOV = metal, 2nd gen = plastic (from what I've heard, don't quote me on this)
1st gen mani is more prone to cracking than 2nd gens but that's about the only difference
T25 = worthless, 14b = better but still a little on the small side IMO

                          1st gen = 90 - 94, 2nd gen = 95 - 99

180 whp/217 ft-lbs super hot, super humid, super rich, boost falling off at 8psi
                          18psi boost spike = BOOM!!!!!

If you go there get this:
                            bov off 1st gen
                            Turbo off first gen
                            manifold off second gen
                            downpipe flange
                            injectors
                            turbo piping
sidemount intercooler if u want it
                            and some misc hoses

Keep in mind 99% of dsm's in junkyards have already been stripped of their turbo.
