Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.


The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.


For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.


Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

    yet another F22 dsm turbo

    i lost my digital camera so dont bother asking, but i got everything on today dsm mani, t25 and what not, mrx sent me a basemap but im really really new to tuning, and it runs but its soooooo so so rich it barely idles and backfires and pops like crazy and its sooo slow it boosts but its 50x slower than it was before it was boosted, i thnk its because its so rich but i dont even know where to start to lean it out, or if anyone has a little bit leaner map

        and i dont think its in limp mode, becuase i think i can rev it past 3k, so does that mean its not in limp mode?? also i thought i had this in the forced induction forum but i guess not sorry, if a mod could move it please thanks

          haha sorry i can't help you out man, good luck with it, hopefully you can get this problem figured out and then get an upgrade ot a nice 16g or so

            ya i want to upgrade, but so far all i paid for in the whole setup was oil lines, and a chip burner haha

                  why a 16g is just as good but also mitsubishi turbos are guarentee'd for life and one of the most reliable turbos

                    Where are they guaranteed for life? How do you figure they're the most reliable turbo ever?

                    Being in limp mode won't neccessarily keep the vehicle from revving. It will put it in a mode to protect the engine by adjusting values. On my old H swap, I was in limp mode because of the knock sensor and it just felt WAY slower but I had free-range of rev's. Has your vehicle or a vehicle run with this ECU before? Have you checked the solders on the chip? What about reburning the chip?

                      Mrx's chipped ecu's may not be the best in the world but hes trying to keep you safe as possible without blowing your motors up and also makes sure you have enough fuel so that you wont lean out at the same time be too rich to where you wont make any power. The main name of the game is to remain safe during boost and out of boost and for when you up the boost. Thats all that matters. Have fun.

                        Exactly, they're called basemaps for a reason. Stay out of boost until you get a proper real-life tune or at least a good street-tune.

                          yea, i have had this ecu in my car working before, and i the CEL is out so i dont know, and also, i know its just a basemap but its really really really off i, i think it may be in limp mode, cuz its really sluggish im gonna take the chip out and if it starts the same then i know cuz it did it before like that but it wouldnt rev past 3k, thanks

                            my basemaps are still lightyears better than he describes...my basemaps are actually driveable lol. He's in limp mode or he's got so many other problems with the car that they are effecting other things. Its in limp mode. Either something wrong with the soldering or the chip isn't being burned correctly. That or you made changes to the map in the wrong uberdata and then saved it.

                              yep you were right, i pulled the chip out, and it started exactly the same, but i dunno how to get the stupid thing to burn correctly, it took me like 7 hours the other day to make it work and i still dont know hwat i did to make it work, it works when it wants to, i havent changed anything on your map yet i just want it to run first, i tried putting it in the directory for version1.7recpak1review2.2 and review 1, neiter are working ill just keep messing with it till it works again i guess thanks for your help
