Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

my turbo is known as the SBR-M60
On the compressor side it has a 60-1 wheel in a 3"inlet 2"outlet housing. Standard td05/6 bearings. TD06H turbine wheel in a ported 7cm housing with 38mm internal wastegate. The car starts to make 1 pound of boost around 3300rpm. I get about 8psi at 4000rpm and full boost (15psi on the street) at 5000rpm. It has lag, but the car is torquey with no boost so its cool...
    12.5 at 114.6mph 15psi
    11.7 and 11.5 20.5psi
    F22a1
    60-1 td06h turbo
    Darton mid sleeves
    85.5 wiseco 8.8:1 forged pistons
    Crower pro billet rods
    Custom ported head.
    KMS valves
    F23 headgasket
    ARP H23 headstuds
    H23 upper intake manifold
    F22a6 lower intake manifold
    Intake manifold is gutted
    AEM EMS 1040u
    FIC 850cc injectors
    Walbro 255 pump
    H23 manual trans
    Prelude shifter assembly
    Forbidden short throw
Nitrous Express Kit installed, never used on this motor

also remember that just because its in boost doesn't mean the turbo is in its efficiency range

i know that.. which is why something that would start to boost around 3k and be fully spooled by 4k.. would seem optimal no...??

also it gets 10 psi at around 4k, but my wg gasket leaks a little...oh and i have lag like a bitch....compared to the 16g which is instant boost

can someone explain why you would want a turbo to spool up later? Personally I would want the smallest turbo w/ the fastest spoolup to meet my power goals. So Im just trying to figure this out in my head.

because tiny turbos = lots of hot air which can cause detontation and then your engine goes BOOM! larger turbos make less heat and there more effecient than the smaller turbos. The larger turbos are acutally alot safer to run then the small ones. the small turbo also doesnt have a very good power band and will run out before your ready to shift.

The perfect turbo to me anyways is one that will kick in at the same time the engines natural power curve is on, that way you get the best of both. So to me again the perfect turbo is one that is matched for your engine and mods that you have done so everything will run smooth. but i dunno what the perfect turbo is so im still guessing.

but of course you can shift where the power is with cam gears...

Depends on the AR's...I have a BFT T4/T3. Shit, next upgrade would just be a T70!

Remember that larger exhaust diameter and freer flowing exhaust manifolds decrease spool time! I can't wait to try out my new downpipe!!!!
