    H22 turbo manifold/turbo space clearance

I am going turbo on my stock H22a Auto and looking for information on other cb7 member who have turbo their h22. !!!This is not I seen or I heard thread, I would like to hear and see with picture if possible from people who have done this or have it in their cb7. Please keep all useless comment asside as I would just like to know about the space/clearnce on cb7 possible 1990-91 if it make any diff.

1st universal question. Any turbo/manifold setup that keep front motor mount/AC/power steering? do you have this install on your cb7? any pic?

I have bought an SSautochrome t3/t4 turbo and manifold. No need to flame, I have as beef them up with extra welding/bracket and garret turbo internal.
The equal lenght design on this manifold and the t3/t4 turbo would require me to remove my Front engine mount and it also digging into the radiator and it fan. even with an slim line fan it still missing 3/4 inch to clear the turbo.

I have look at other log type manifold and revhard h22 turbo manifold and it generic look alike but afraid it still pushes the turbo out too much and hit the fan/radiator.Maybe the Prelude H22 engine bay has more clearance then in our cb7. here is the SSautochrome pic and a few other log type.

switch to a civic radiator to fix your clearance problems, look at h22sparkle midnite racer x, acclipseh23 to see how much more clearance you get.

And good luck with keeping the auto

You definitely gonna need a civic radiator but not just any radiator a daulcore civic radiator. I hope that manifold up at the top isnt an ssautochrome manifold if so then youve lost the battle and the war.

I will check the dig up pic other member ride from what I recall they have a full radaitor not a small civic one. Anyway regarding the civic radiator is it needed for all cb7 h22 turbo car or just my current mani/turbo setup.

I might need to get the size from the website but the revhard and last pic manni seem to be the shortest so that might work out. 1/2 inch to 1" make a whole lot of diff on our cramped cb7 h22.

all those people run civic radiators. Trust me, I've studied their setups.

I search for civic dual core radiator and came up only with OEM replacement type, all racing radiator does not mention dual core. I Think I need dual core because of my AUto tranny, would a dual core picture below be able to handle 5psi~230whp

I don't know the differences of the auto manual, but any stock civic radiator would handle at least 250whp

thank for the link, I did check on a few member ride picture. trying to make my work without modifying to much in the car or buying more parts.

anyhow the 1st link that accord has a full size racing radiator and it seem like he has no fan on it, and it seem he did not have front motor mount also.

AccordSIR car, 1st name come to mind when I think h22 turbo hehe. I'm pming him and we are talking. Just want to hear if other people also have the space/clearance issue and have to remove anything like frontmotormount, remove/get slim fan, remove/get civic radiator, relocate AC compress...

i dont have an h22 but i think most of the turbo accords run without the front motor mount and the slim line fans are always a plus when it comes to getting more room

Dont use the frontmount and fil up the other 3 with urethane from mcmasters.com. Take the slimfans and put them in the front evenly and ziptie em like i did. If they are pusher fans thats works better too because they save you more space. I know the m5 had one big ass fan in front of the radiator .

There's a dirty cheap group buy going on at HT right now for both push and pull type slim fans.

thanks for all the input, I'm getting a civic race radiator and auto tranny cooler. the shop is going to cut/reweld the 3" downpipe to clear the AC compressor and they will create a custom low mounted front engine mount to clear the turbo intake side. once every is up and running I plan to go mahle gold series piston and eagle rod and head stud. So far it seem building a h22 for mild racing might not be too expensive afterall.

You can ues a cast or log manni and still keep your radiator but you will need to use slim fans also clearance is very tight at the A/C line have found that a Prelude compressor, bracket, and big line will give the nessasary clearance for a 2.5 and maybe a 3 in. down pipe
Out in the driveway building something

dude dont waste your money on the custom front engine mount the car will be just fine without it there are a TON of us not running a front mount and everything is just fine. so save some money and forget the mount.
