From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Turbo and automatic

I know it is possible to turbo an automatic, but is it worth it and can it be just as good as a stick or surpass a stick?

true it can shift faster than a manual, but a stock auto tranny boggs on launch and boost can toast the clutch packs.....

so upgrade the torque converter and beef up the tranny and there you go. later.

unless u beefed up ur trannys like TypeG said ud end up blowin ur tranny. a guy down here n NC had an auto in his cb7 wit a turbo. he went 2 the track and tranny went on a PERMANET vacation. lol

yeah i can vouch for all these guys.... i had my auto 90 CB7 boosted for about 6 months on 9psi... the tranny started to slowly show signs of wearing like gears engaging muchh harder and revving to much higher rpms before shifting under normal cruising conditions and it got to the point where the tranny started to chirp when it shifted into 2nd gear.... the next day i was just driving normal, gettin on it a lil bit and when i cant to a stop sign, suddenly every single gear was neutral even reverse.... and i did troubleshoot it to make sure it wasnt the TCU or something electrical, but after a bit, it started engaging somewhat normally till i got about 500ft down the road and i started hitting neutral again in every gear and had to push her home....

moral of the story, she'll go, and she'll be fun for a while, but sooner or later, she's garunteed to go boom unless you beef up that trans....

go to level 10. Buy the PTS kit and a new torque converter. You should be good as long as the psi is relatively low.

I’m also planning on turboing my automatic CB7, im using a T3 so I wont get much boost when mash on the gas but I will get top end. I basically use my car for show and not much go, I don’t drag it or anything but im still planning on going 5 speed but I believe if I ease into the gas the auto should hold me for a good while.

I belive if you jump on it when doing like 60 or 70 it will still wear it down.

Turbo automatic trannys wont last long. Besides that, honestly...what's the point? You may as well do a manual conversion. Turbos are for speed and automatic transmissions arent, it just doesnt match. I dunno about you guys, but I'm automatic right now, speed isnt a big thing for me I just want to have a nice car.

Thanks guys for the input, now that I have read the info you all are right the tranny's wont be able to take it. So since I can't afford and H22A, tranny, and the swap. I will just have to stick wit a F22B swap and get converted to a 5speed, then turbo da hell out of her. To save me money I would do it myself, but I am not much of a mechanic besides changing my on oil, and the lil things. I'm a college student wit no time, but I can't wait till I graduate so I can get into automotive school.
