Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

it doesnt matter which tranny you use, if its not built up, it will wear sooner or later. Even if its new.

not true. I remember watching horsepower tv a couple of years ago, and the first small block motor to break into 7s i think, was a 5spd 351 nitrous mustang.

That show is mainly talk not enough hands on action and they constantly just prequel the show with not enough info, which just leaves everyone in the dark.

definitely thats for stock power levels you can drop it as long as it holds. beint that the tranny wasnt built really for passed stock power levels sooner or later it will give. First the seals then the torque converter and then more and more shit.

WRONG. The auto trans may not die the first, second, or even 12th time neutral dropping, but even with a stock motor you WILL end up with a completely owned differential, sun/planet/ring gear assembly, or any of the clutch bands or pack members (depending on what is weakest) before long.

Exactly WHAT is your reasoning behind seal failure as the first thing to happen when overpowering a stock auto trans? That has absolutely NOTHING to do with it. Neither is the torque converter. Yes, it is a driven component, but it is nowhere near the weakest link.

What im saying is the car may run long overheating parts will cause seals to actually fail. Along with seal failure parts wont keep cool and allow themselves to rotate properly. Have you worked on transmissions before probably not. You can read it in a book but ive bet youve never done hands on before probably not either.

And i said (depending) on what the weakest link is. You can second guess what is the weakest link is inside the transmission who died and made you king. Unless you can see through transmissions and see whats going on in there like superman which i doubt. The only way to check is to open the damn thing up and see what went wrong inside there and which component fail. Sorry but nooone made you a technician go back to school and read up more on auto transmissions dude. cha-ching i think not
