From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

k wat i wana do is get one of those huge dry flow aem filters or a big k&n filter and put that on the turbo then put duct work around it that leads to a scoop in the hood....and rap all the duct work with a type of thermal rap.... that doesnt really have to do with the questions but w/e

2 questions......which one do u guys think is a better filter the k&n or the new aem dryflows?

and wat size is the inlet of a 14b were the filter will be installed?

i know i prob dont need that size, prob may not even make a differnce..but dont destroy my fun there not that expesive....

I wouldn't go with the K&N if I were you...you want to use a dry paper element filter like the AEM, those oils in the K&N and other wet filters have been known to cause problems with turbocharged engines. That's what I've not only read, but seen first hand. Dry paper element is the way to go, oh, and never use the foam element filters, they deteriorate and get sucked through the compressor blades, not good stuff.

the inlet of a stock 14b is only 1 3/4", but dsms use pretty massive filters, ive got a stock dsm filter beside me and it is 5" tall -X- 6" thick -X- 7" wide! I have had good luck with both but k&n is the most reputable and you can get virtually any size!

So you changed to a 14b. I personally would use a filter instead of a screen. You never know what kinda shit could get in there and fuck it up. Thats just me though.
