Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Traction problems...

Just wondering, any of you guys putting down some power have problems starting off in the rain? Seems like a will either feather it till I almost stall, or sit there and spin my tires all the way through first in the rain. And yes, I have good tires.

I find first gear to be useless. If you feather it in second you should be fine.

I almost always start out in first gear in every kind of weather. I don't spin my tires unless I mean to. Normally I rev the engine to 1500rpm and feather the clutch out untill my foot is off the clutch. As long as I don't stomp my foot down on the gas it won't spin the tires.

My turbo is a bit bigger, but as long as I'm easy on the throttle, I don't have to many problems. Ice on the other hand is a totaly different animal, after turboing my car driving in Minnesota winters was impossible. Just take it easy and shift to 2nd as soon as you can. L8r

What size is your turbo? That would be helpful info to most. Also where does it begin to spool?

sounds like you need an alignment

and wrong wheel drive will almost always result in traction problems

Camber helps around a corner, but limits the contact patch that will let you accelerate in a straight line.

What do you mean by "good tires"?

t3/to4e .60/.63 with stage 3, 57 trim wheel, non ball bearing. Spools on the h23 at 2500, full boost (7psi) at 3300. L8r

If he is talking about losing traction when trying to move from a stop in rain, but not on dry i strongly doubt camber would have anything to do with it. This is the impression I am getting from it.

You just need better tires and need to learn how to drive better. Noone really gets traction in the rain including me so not to worry, especially in a fwd car let along a rwd even worse.

Now how come at the meet you couldnt tell me that??? Thats the exact turbo I want/getting....

Good tires= New bridgestone potenza g009. Nice grip to them

Its only in 1st gear, when it raining i spin my tires. I either feather it out and my car stutters like its about to stall, or I feather it out with a little more gas and my tires spin. And i have the 14b turbo, so im making around 130whp around 2000rpms if that helps

And about the same TQ. So thats why. Nothing much to do abot it, unless you want to cut the boost down. Pick up one of those adjustable actuators. However, they cost a pretty penny.
