    good price for turbo?

i ran into a guy selling his turbo kit which includes a garrett t3/t3 turbo, greddy intercooler, hks bov, turbonetics wastegate and manifold (he'll also throw in a b series turbo manifold for free) for 1600...is this a good deal? im going to try to talk him down to 1400 but will 1600 be a good price for it...oh, and its only 4 months old and the turbine has no play...everything is in good working order

t3/t3 turbo???? never heard of that unless u're talking about the t3/t4.

sounds like a decent price, but too much for me. u're still going to need fuel management.

lets see u can get off ebay:
    t3/t4 ~ $400-500 new
    FMIC ~ $300-400 new
    BOV ~ $100-150 new
    wastegage ~ $100-200
Manfiold ~ $xxx depends on what u want and stuff i suppose

im assuming this isnt for a 4th gen accord?

talk him down...i think he's asking way too much if it doesn't include the small things like all the oil lines, intercooler piping, hose clamps, etc.

my bad , i meant t3/t4 garett turbo...i saw it this weekend and its in great shape...no play at all and spins freely...and its polished too so that thing looks beautiful the intercooler has a couple of bent fins...i acounted about 7 spots where the fins were bent but also in great condition. both manifolds are log type and in great shape and the wastegate is sood also except that the sticker is peeling off i want people to know that its a turbonetics delta wastegat when they see it. im going to tell him, which is the honest truth, that all i could do is 1200 so i'll just have to wait and see. oh, and the bov is nice too except it needs the flange. btw, how much would the ic piping run me along with an fmu and turbo timer? oh, and how much would i be able to get for the extra b-series turbo manifold?

From what I've heard I think the piping would be around $200. You could probably sell the b-series manifold for $100-200 pretty easily if it's a good design and in good shape. $1200 sounds a little more fair because it is used and all. You would still need bigger injectors and a better fuel pump for sure. I think you can get some dsm injectors for like $75. Also, I'm pretty sure you can get a turbo timer for less than $100.

agreed...get another wastegate. Delta's are commonly known as the worst out basically. And the wastegate is very very important. IC piping shouldn't cost you more than like $50 because you'll only need to add a couple of peices if the ic piping your already getting doesn't fit. Go to homemadeturbo.com and read up on FMU and all fuel management for that matter because i think you'll change your mind about FMU's after u read up on them. Depending on the amount of boost you want to run u could get away with just the AFC hack till like 10 psi until you'll need further upgrading. U can find used turbo timers for lower than $75...and don't pay more than $50 for dsm injectors. Also search various dsm boards to locate turbo timers, injectors, etc.

jcwhitney.com sells some pipes i believe but i thought u had some ic pipes? When i get home i'll search a bit more but try ebay also. U'll need 45 degree bends, a couple of straights, maybe 2 90 degree bends, and various other weird angles. If u can go to a junk yark try to collect some pipes off the turbo cars there. And the silicone hoses and clamps will make the cost rise like $50-100 unless you get a hook up

what size should i get? 2 1/4 or 2.5? i might go junk yard hopping this weekend and keep an eye out for any, but i would rather get some new aluminum ones so that i could polish them and get a nice bling bling action going. the turbo is polished and so is the intercooler so i want the ic piping polished too. im also trying to get some dsm injectors but i was wondering if they will still fit if i get an aem fuel rail?

you really don't need the fuel rail...but hey if u have the money i guess hop on it. 450cc's should still fit it you do get that aem fuel rail tho. The o-rings off are stock injectors are the only things that need to be modified because the inside diameter is too small for the 450cc head to fit all the way through. Aluminum heats up quickly so i'm not sure if you really want to go with a completely aluminum ic setup but to each his own. I'm using just one piece of aluminum and i'm still very weary of it costing me hp. The piping diameter depends on what diameter your turbo's compressor outlet is and the size of the ic's inlet and outlet. But forinstance i'm running 2.5" from turbo to IC and a 2.5" to 2" reducer/expander, then used a 2.5" to 3" expander/reducer for my 3" charge pipes...but thats my setup. How much psi do u plan on using and how big is your IC?

i have a greddy intercooler...core size is 24"(27" w/ end tanks)x11"x2 3/4" and the inlet and outlet are 2 1/2" while the compressor outlet is 2 1/4". im planning to run a boost of about 15 psi maybe...maybe a lil higher. i want to run into the 12's on high boost but run low boost to maintain streetability. i saw this dual-stage boost controller that can let you switch from 2 pre-set boost levels...its from turboxs and i think it would be ideal for my high low boost settings

                            necessary items?

I know you'd need the oil lines, but that can be pieced together at home depot. At 6psi would you still need an FMU? I was informed that the stock fuel system could handle that type of boost, as well as the stock internals! Please let me know if I was wrong, because I'm in the process of piecing together a junkyard turbo setup.

Well you can piece that kind of stuff up for the lines for boost but you have to be a bit more precise. As for boost at 6psi I say anytime your messin with forced induction when you dont upgrade the fuel system in anyway along with tuning your playing with fire.

In my opinion I rather have enough fuel and then some to satisfy the needs of the car. The worst thing is detonation I had that and i blew my engine when i used a 65shot on my f22 ways back. Dont do what i did I whopped the whole head very stupid of me. Didnt get a fpr and a 255 pump all i did was the timing so think about that.

As as forced induction goes you still need a fuel managment when dealing with superchargers,or turbo not to sure on nitrous though. But you must have one to tell the injectors when to suply enough fuel to work with the pump when you wanna dump more fuel in the chambers. Cause remember the more fuel you can put in there with the air you create enough decent power one without the other is like icecream without the cone so you need both.

As far as internals go sure it can handle it but it depends on how good the engine was before you brought it its present condition and who ran it into the ground before you.
