Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    WOuld i suffer without wideband?

If i was attemping to chip my own ecu, burn my own chips and tune my own stuff, could i get by wothout using wideband? Or would i suffer from not having it?? Do i have any other options since that wideband thing is like $300-350???

thats the only way ur gonna truely tune....wideband will save ur car before its too late IMO.
only way around it is to rent some dyno time, where they have the wideband

Its always a good thing to have indeed. This is a key factor its like a stethscope for cars to check how well is it running/operating under different loads. Now as for the tuning better make sure someones tuning it right. I always was amazaed by widebands being that the guage is very noticeable with its digital display and all .

as the others said, theres no way around it, do it right or don't even attempt to do it at all. Talk to some friends and see if they'll go half and half on it. If not that then let ppl borrow it when ur not using it for a price.

dont try and tune without a wideband, last summer i tried to do it with my last engine (RIP ) and i blew it within a week...so do it right the first time or dont try to tune it yourself...if you dont wanna pay the 3-350 take it to your local dyno, they should have something you can use but that is gonna cost about 100 an hour, so in the long run just buy yourself one...IMO

Thanx guyz i guess im just gonna have to ask Accord R33 for him to burn me a chip with the map he is using if he'll let. I was thinking bout goin with the exact same setup being that we have the same exact car. I probaly can get one of those Ecu's taht has the sockets soldered in. But hopefully he'll sell/give me a chip with the same stuf that hes runnin right now. Just til i can get enough money to get Wideband.

THanx for all your replies i wish there was another way. . .
