Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

Turbo seals are shot/ too much oil pressure / both

ok... since i'lv had the turbo installed on my old cb7 and the new 1, it loves to blow oil, but really only wen its cold... once its warmed up i see a lil smokeever once in a while like wen i punch it but not much..... now, i know its possible that my seals are shot and just blowin thru, BUT... i originally bought the turb from Pheonix Turbo, since it had happened from the 1st time i installed it, i called up the customer service and they said it was normal if you have too much pressure input to the turbo.... Corkey Bell also said that the press should not be over 25 psi at the turbo in his Maximum Boost book.... mines at 70 wen its cold, 55ish wen im cruisin, and 10-15ish wen im idlin and its warmed up....1st thing i wanna try, is to get some sort of pressure reducer to drop it to 25 psi at the max, then if i still see smokin, then obviously its the turbo seals... any ideas on a pressure reducer? or more less, any ideas at all? thanks guys...

buy yourself an oil line restrictor from stealthmode. It runs about 14 bux and works like a charm.

Stealthmode oil lines are awsome, plus thier restrictor too....which reminds me, I need to buy a oil pressure gauge.

If your car smokes all the time (idle, cruising, boosting) it MIGHT be the turbo seals. If it ONLY smokes when boosting, you have too much crankcase pressure. I've seen it a lot on the boosted D and B series engines. Get the ENDYN crankcase breather kit from www.theoldone.com and I'm willing to bet your problem will disapear. If not it's the turbo or a serious problem with the engine. I've always run stock oil pressure to all of my boosted Hondas and never had a seal failure due to too much oil pressure.

damn Thats messed up and did you make sure the turbo was broken in properly when you brought it from my boys. I also hope that you didnt run out of oil or put too much oil in there?> what kind of oil line you got i hope its not some cheap home made shit.

hahaha.... its a copper line that i ran, just till i get the stainless line kit.... yea it does smoke when its cold especially, even when its idling, so it might just be the seals... now i know everything was always hooked up properly and running right from the beginning, so is it possibl that since the oil pressure was always high going into the turbo, that it couldlve just destroyed the seals on its own? when the engine is all warmed up and toasty, when im cruisin on the highway or road, even when i punch it i dont really see or smel any smoke so i dunno..... i'm gunna get that stainless kit and restrictor from stealthmode and see what hapens... if its what i expect, ill have to send the turbo back to pheonix for a rebuild and hopefully $300 later itll be good.....itl sukk cuz ill have to drive my bros jeep for 2 weeks, but what can you do...... wish me luck....

ok but wut did i not do right? if you mean by runnin copper lines in place of flexible stainless ones, thats not the issue cause they do the job just as good but w/o the flexibe part and the prettiness..... if you mean to get the seals tested before i instyalled it, then i cant really argue w/ it, i wouldve never known to get it tested, i'lv never seen that discussed when it comes to someone installin a brand new turbo on thier car.... either way, i wouyld still have needed to or will still need to get the seals replaced and it would still be $300 outa my pocket.... so how exakly would it havent have been right the 1st time wen it was never right since before it was in my control.... iite yo managers comin gotta go
