i personally have had a really good experience with the AFC hack.... another thing the reason why i posted and asked if anyone knew where i could get the oil line kit without having to measure it up.... isn't that the point of this forum? from past members that may already know would be so kind to post what they found out instead of saying "have you learned NOTHING from this site?" get real, if you don't wanna help other members out get off the site.

Please DO NOT Post In The General Section
From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.
The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.
For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.
Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.
Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

**Edit**
The "have you learned NOTHING from this site?" comment I believe was about the AFC. They simply aren't that great for tuning a turboed car. I don't care what you may think. Fact is more motors have blown up due to using a AFC. Uberdata is a much better way to tune. It's also cheaper (if you know how to solder it can be done for a very decent price if not there are people here who can build and chip a ECU for you). If you research this subject you can really find a helthy amount of info on how to do itLast edited by pwrusr; 08-01-2005, 02:09 PM.

k.. here it is.. i just talked to SRD TO CONFIRM THIS AND THEY SAID EXACTLY WHAT I SUSPECTED, i HAVE USED (sorry caps lock).. anyways, the reason (not saying anyone is wrong)... is also, the tuner only allows fuel modification every 200rpm.. andfrom expirience this is a bad thing, i had a bad turbo which means the fucker spooled crazy fast and was hard as a bitch to tune cause of the crazy spool.. so anyways, the turbo would spike at a certain rpm from 4.5psi to 8.5psi.... and other people have this problem and it is usually the reason of basically the turbo is smaller in size (what u want for driveability) or there is a leak somewhere, well anyways.. the turbo would spike right after the richened fuel curve starting at 3.6k so when i was tuning this i noticed it and richened it up more, and if anyone has used the AFC hack u know that the fuel tuner is better for cutting fuel than u asking it to add fuel.. anywyas, it couldn`t give me as much fuel i wanted at that rpm then slow the curve back down at the next intervule (sp*) so basically i was making small amounts of pools of gas in my chambers at this rpm, then fowling plugs and eventually breaking ringlands and shooting oil because of one lean spot.. lemme tell u, u need a standalone for the best results in daily driving... because.. whether or not u use the afc hack or something, something could go wrong one day and u spike and u run lean and next thing u know it takes u 5 quarts of oil to drive home... r worse, and i am not saying this happens everytime but atleast a stand alone will retard timing upon seeing lean conditions... and it is true that they are better.. well atleast for the long haul.... and AFC compared to a standalone is like this... a AFC hack is like nailing a fat chick, sure it is fun for awhile, until ur friends see u doing it... then u know u jut got blown... and in this case itll be fun for a little then ur know in the end ur screwed, if i were u and u were doing it then i would make a nasty ass fuel haul around an questionable RPMs so no spiking can occur, cause we all know, when u go rich, i mean to rich, that turbo is ganna spit out flames and not spike, so just do it right and get a standalone...

Couple of things:
The programs we use won't retard timing in lean conditions but rather allow you to add is much fuel as your injectors can flow without adding/subtracting any timing unless you want to.
S-afc's only have 8-10(can't remember) points of adjustability...the chipped ecu's have about 256
Other than that he's pretty much right.Knowledge is power...in EVERY sense of the word

i know about the AFC advancing timing, i know it only increases fuel each 200rpms.... i know standalone is better.. i know its cheaper, but more tunning involved with the right tools. i have an Eprom burner right now... my hatch was chipped... i know about all this shit... i just say the AFC hack is a lot easier IMO. i've never had a problem with timing, i've never had a problem with boost spike. i never blew my engine beating the piss outta it every single day at 12-13psi. some people have better experiences than other and i believe me boosting only 8 psi it won't be a problem. i've had experience with a boosted car with 2 different turbo set ups.. and besides the accord is my winter beater!!!! hahah
even if you've had bad experiences don't be like AccordR33 and be a prick about it... explain yourself like everyone else... theres always 2 sides to everything.HAN - ZiviCase10287

i tuned it myself off of the A/F gauge... made sure it ran more rich on the gauge cuz the gauge is off.... took the spark plugs out after a month of beating on it everyday.. they were brand new.... no black marks on them.. i could of put them back in the box and returned them..HAN - ZiviCase10287
