Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

when iwas talking to my mechanic whos gonnna help me do the turbo and let me use his garage to do it. he said that i am retarded for wanting to take out the front motor mount . said that he will try to make motor mount that would fit under the compressor and if that doesnt work fill my other ones and tie the engine down using chains like they do for muscle cars they build in his shop.

my dad keeps telling me when I take off the front mount to tie a chain from it to the block. Says he used to do it on his AMX and corvette.

so is it possible to just weld the mount to the block?

What i did was cut the motor mount in half and weld the lower have to the very end on the metel braket on the block and used the same mount on the crossmember I also belive distrubingbehavior did this. Works great one of the best mods i have ever done.

I think I'm just gonna fill the side mounts for now, and take it easy. then get the front mount relocator... I hate doing custom fabrication.

Its best to have a mount in the front, although not necessary. The motor surges towards the back of the car when it makes torque, so the rear and side mounts will take more abuse. I would fill em with urethane, its really easy. How far are you along with this project? Hit me up with a PM, lets talk sometime.
