Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.


The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.


For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.


Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

    Opinions on unused Jdm turbo kit

    A guy I know is selling his unused jdm full turbo kit with a t3 for $750 that includes inter cooler, piping, gauges, etc. The kit was for his h23 prelude, only thing it doesn't have is a manifold... Question is, is that a good price for everything and I should jump on it? Or am I just wasting money if my engine isn't even close(a torn apart all factory engine) to being rebuilt yet? This is my first turbo build and I plan to resleeve the block and all that good stuff so it's not just gonna blow up on me.

    There is no such thing as a "JDM Turbo Kit", since no Accord/Prelude in Japan came turbocharged from the factory.

    What would determine the value of this "kit" would be the quality of the components in it. Are these parts from quality manufacturers such as Turbonetics, Garrett, HKS, GReddy, Precision, Synapse, Cosworth etc? Or are these just thrown together chinese "eBay specials"? If that's the case, you would be better off just putting that $750 into your re-sleeve or other parts for your rebuild; since you can find these kits all day everyday and twice on Sunday.

      Yeah, I kinda figured it was junk but all the stuff has Jdm actually stamped into it.

        If it has "JDM" stamped on it I can almost guarantee none of these parts ever saw Japanese soil.

          But there was a jdm 2.0 liter v6 Honda legend turbo in 1988/89. Not that you would want that turbo but just sayin.
