The Bisimoto H23A1 pistons will require that the engine be resleeved. The cylinders of the H23A1 are FRM just like the H22A and cannot run just any piston. The only aftermarket pistons that will work with factory FRM cylinder liners are the Mahle Gold series. Even then, those are for H22s and the compression height will be ~.45mm too high. You can still run them but different considerations must be made when buying cams or milling the head or decking the block in the future.
It doesn't really sound like you know too much about the details of building an engine. Take a step back, read up on everything you can and put the credit card away for a while. My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!

No I was not disappointed. my question is will the stock sleeves work with boost an the bisi piston and rods, and the reply I got back was no. So I was going to read more on the sleeves to make sure I have the right parts. that I need so the build go rightLast edited by 92cordlx; 08-28-2012, 12:57 PM.

How much boost are you looking for? The FRM sleeves will withstand a low-boost setup, and Mahle makes pistons that are compatible with the FRM sleeves. That would be a cheaper route if you're not looking to make a huge amount of power. Just be sure you find a shop that knows how to properly hone FRM, as not all do.

I was going to start out with 8-10psi but, I did look up Mahle all I seen was the h22 piston and later down the road I was going to turn the boost up more. I thought it be better to do it right the first time then have to go through the block again. There is a shop about 10min from me they said the will charge me $90 to clean the block and bore and hone it and $100 more to add the sleeves and piston and rods.

Anyone who will install sleeves, bore and line hone an engine even on a single cylinder for $190 is not someone you want working on your engine. I believe you are misreading prices. That or you need to give me the contact information for that machine shop right now. Give wed3k a holler too. It would be cheaper for him to accept work, ship it to this guy, have him perform the work and ship it back than it would be for him to do the work himself. My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. Since you seem infatuated with Bisimoto why don't you check out his sleeve installation prices on his website. My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!

Costed me $125-150 just to have my block decked, idk anywhere that would properly do aftermarket sleeves for a $100 period. Where's this shop and what's the contact info i'm in NC and i'd like to contact them.
Like said PSI is irrelevant....what are your power goal's?

A resleeve alone for less than $1000 is a bargain. Add in other work, including assembly of the rest of the bottom end, and anything under that would be abnormally low. As Jarrett said, I wouldn't trust anyone that did it so cheap!
Does this H23A1 run as it is? Personally, I'd install that H23A1 and drive with it in stock form while building the F22A you have under the hood now for boost. 8-10psi from most common turbos (as MortsAccord said, PSI doesn't matter as much as power output... it varies from turbo to turbo) will likely put you in the 200-230whp range. I'd classify that as "low boost". You could do that with forged pistons and stock sleeves in an F22A quite easily, as long as the block isn't damaged, and you install and tune everything with care.
