Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.


The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.


For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.


Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

    HELP on CEL code 9

    Aite yall dis shit is pissin me off. my car is just dies after i let it run for a minute and if i try to start it again it wont star, i have to wait for a while to start again den just dies again? i just put on new distributor on it last nite and it still doing it and i pulled the CEL and i got 2 CELs, a 20 and a 9. on my haynes manual it say code 20 is electronic load detector, and that has somthing to do with my idling dropping to 500 somtimes and also just dies somtimes. and the code 9 is NO1 CYLINDER POSITION, it says to check the cylinder sensor and the circuit, and to check it is by checking on da distributor. ionno what to do i just put on a new dizzy on it. a guy from autozone said my timing mite have jumped, but i checked my timing belt or cam gear if its loose, but its not. aite yall i need yalls help on dis

          might sound a little crazy, but did you put the wires in the correct places on the dizzy, and make sure that the dizzy was set at the factory postion?

          you timing may be fucked if the dizzy is not at stock, you could have either advanced it or retarded it.

            what wires you talkin bout?
            the colored wires for the igniter? i thot dey already wired up or connected already when i bought da dizzy?

                i live right by hulen. but the new dizzy u got, did it come with a igniton moduel? i know that awhile back mine died after running for a while and it was b/c of a faulty ignition moduel.

                  gyea i got da whole dizzzy at autozone with igniter and coil in it brand new.

                    autozone parts are crap i don't know maybe they gave u my old dizzy. jk i just know that i have went through 3 ignition moduels from autozone and they all had the same problem but as far as ur problem is i have no clue.

                          i searched but dat thread didnt come up
                          wow cool i guess every1 is having the same problem as me
                          my car stalls out too n die somtimes.

                          but i got my car towed to my house last nite

                            well ok i read that thread MRX and bought my new dizzy.
                            its still throwing a code 20 and 9 but it just drives fine now ionno wth is wrong, i took out the fuse on da fuse box to reset the ecu but its still got a CEL, also took out the ground to da battery and it still throwin a CEL.

                              i changed my fuse box and got rid of the code 20 but code 9 is still fuckin on
