My motor guy just fell through. i was going to get a f22 block for my f22b vtec head. my current motor burns oil. im not sure if its the rings or the valve seals leaking. when i took my cai off today i noticed a bunch of gunk in the pipe by the crank case pressure line. im wondering if i could just bolt up the head, and it owuld burn less oil. please help

You can "in theory" run as much boost as you want, but I don't think you could run, lets say, 20psi for more than about 10 minutes before you need to buy another engine.
Also, although your engine is rebuilt, that doesn't mean it's any stronger, your rods are still the weakest lnk, still at stock specs, and they weren't designed/built to handle ANY boost. Since you want to rebuild it anyways, I'd say fork over the couple hundred extra and get forged internals, you'll be happy in the long run.
I wouldn't run more than 8-10 psi on a daily driver, 8 street, 10 track. Unless you put wing-nuts on your motor mounts...and really like to R&R your engine on a montly basis.

I Would say 10psi is probably ok, but 12psi is pushing a little far. I think that MidnightRacerX is running 10psi...I could be wrong. But I know that most people on here are running around 8psi, and they've had their turbos for quite a few months now without any major malfunctions.
Me, well, I'll be putting in some forged pistons and rods, just for peace-of-mind,

sorry im not made of money, nor time. i will be needing a running car by april 7. i have all of the parts: f22b vtec head, H23 intake manifold, equal length tubular turbo manifold, turbo, fmic, ic piping, greddy type s bov, and all the other bullshit for the build process. all i need is the block and chipped ecu. i remember a guy a while ago on another forum that boosted 14 psi daily. i think he tuned it with 450cc injectors and a afc........guy must be one hell of a tuner!! I'm just trying to find out how much boost i could run on a rebuilt block that would only be used on weekends and nice days. i still want the car to last for my weekend ventures, just not sure how hard i could push it.Turbo f22a/f22b vtec
