Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

I'm pretty sure a Jackson Racing H22 supercharger would fit onto an F22A6. It's value would be another discussion....

Also, Variable Geometry Turbos are controlled electronically so you would have to have something to control it.

a supercharger has been done on an f22 before. if im correct, what the person did was take the runners off the f22 IM and weld them onto a supercharger.

Never on an F22A, to my knowledge. Someone did it to an F22B, and an H23A VTEC.

There are no F22A supercharger KITS. A supercharger isn't made for a specific car. Just the way it is mounted (brackets or manifold)... fabricate one of those, and you can supercharge anything you want. I have a supercharger on my floor right now from a Mercedes Benz C230 that I may or may not put on my H22A.

I know this isnt' the topic of the thread, but I wanted to clear that up.

It's possible... but as far as I know it hasn't been done.

Speaking of turbos, how much can a stock F22A handle? My F22A4 has 265,000 miles and I'm wondering how much boost I can run, if any, and if so, what's the largest turbo I can run safely?

With 20 years on the average F22A, it is impossible to say what it can handle.

They will all blow up eventually. The ringlands always crack.

there is a company in texas i think called Forced Air technologies that just fitted a subaru wrx with that mercades supercharger from the newer v6 that uses a clutch that disengages the supercharger during cruise and they utilized the clutch to disengage the super chager after the GT40 turbogot up to boost pressure. so in essence the supercharger gave boost in the low end rpm range and once the GT40 kicked in theere was no loss in boost. just some food for thought, that subie made 604 whp

                          Werd!

Yeah, the M45 that I have has a clutch... which is one of the reasons I got it. I thought maybe I could rig it to the TPS to cut the boost when the throttle plate closes. I'm not that smart, though!

The variable geometry on a turbo is on the turbine side, not the compressor side.

And a turbine engine uses a throttle to control speed. The ones that do have variable vane turbine/compressor sections simply use them to give the engine a wider range of efficiency and safe operating characteristics over a wider range of operating conditions.

Turboprop ...not turbofan. They are quite different styles of engines. A turboprop is either idle, or all out.
