Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Fuel Pump

I am about to start my turbo set up, since the cam is almost done, but i was curious to know if i will need a new fuel pump (walbro 255) and fuel pressure regulator, or can i use the stock. My DSM buddy is telling me that if i don;t upgrade the pump i will run into TONS of problems. Oh yeah and i am doing the AFC hack, and i heard u can use the stock fuel pump, but just wanna make sure before i start doing this

your buddy is full of shit... you can run the stock fuel pump up to i believe 15-16psi... in my mind i would get a fuel pump after 12 psi tho. also the AFC hack advances timing like a bitch.. you'll have to run 3-4º retard if not more... or just get a MSD 6BTM. also you don't NEED an adjustable FPR.

get a walbro 190 or 255 lph fuel pump. or if u just feelin' lazy, get an inline pump. better than not having enuff fuel available.

are u running the 'hack' with stock injectors? if u are going with the 'hack' and some 450 cc DSM injectors, it would benefit u to upgrade the fuel delivery in some way --either an in-tank or in-line fuel pump.

if u haven't bought the 'hack' (AFC or VAFC) stuff yet, u may want to consider getting a P06 or P28 ECU and socket it or have it socketed. then get a chip burner. pick some sort of free ROM editor (i.e. Uberdata or Crome) and read up about it. make a basemap for yourself and burn a chip.

then u wont have to worry about 1.) insufficient fuel delivery... which could make your motor go 'Kaboom'
2.) timing advancing too much at the upper RPMs... which could make your motor go 'Kaboom'

back to the main topic. just upgrade it so that when the boostbug bites u, u can turn up the boost and not worry about not having enuff fuel delivered. ...every1 gets bit by the boostbug.

      just my $0.02
