Can someone tell me what the commonly accepted max HP for a F22 block is assuming that the tune is good? I looked around and didn't find a whole lot. I was also wondering if H22 ARP headstuds will work since I couldn't find any listed for the F22 although my wholesalers website is weird like that at times.

Please DO NOT Post In The General Section
From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.
The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.
For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.
Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.
Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

Boost on Stock F22A6

around 230-250 is reliable on a stock block, more with a built block.
but again it all depends on your engines health.
a leakdown check would be the best thing before doing anything.
Are you planning on building, semi sounds like it since your asking for ARP head studs.
As far as this situation is concerned, go with H23 head studs, H22 will NOT work.

could be like straightedge and do 20psi but he only ran it on the track.~Nick~

From there I'll have to figure the rest of the build out. To start off I want it to be as much of a reliable budget build as I can achieve but would like to DD w/ 275 to 300 on stock internals so that might throw reliable out the window, unless I tune for 300 and then turn the boost back down to make about 250 w/ 300 being reserved for track/race days. Even if I do blow the engine that'd be OK though. The local pick and pull is loaded w/ F22's for dirt cheap so it wouldn't really break my heart to have to buy another short block not to mention it'd give me an excuse to build the bottom end once that happened.

I'd say if you want reliability, boost at 7-10 psi. Your pistons are the weakest link and the ring lands will break off probably before you get issues with cylinder head torque issues.
With stock internals, your always running the risk of blowing up your engine, especially in the 250-300 hp range. I'd just boost it safely and get a lower 200-230 hp on stock internals, or build it up a little bit and reach your 250-300 goal.Been a long time. Still alive...

Plan on getting a cam from bisi for 300hp with that boost like me...I would run 8-10psi with the cam and make 250-300.... Then to rely on boost making the power...I talked to bisi and its a very good combo for a D.D,.....AND ITS QUICK...Think about it....Last edited by WhiteGhost; 06-01-2010, 03:07 AM.Only give advice when I know or have done it and it worked
