Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

This is a rebuild for a TD05 since you diddn't specify which garret your talking about.
Google has a heap of places that show turbo rebuilds.

    http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/arti...-part-2-a.html

How to rebuild a turbo? - Search google for specific turbo model for instructions.

Cost? - Around $100 depending on where you buy the rebuild kit from.

Is it reliable after a rebuild? - In what particular way? If its leaking oil past worn seals and you fix the seals it shouldn't leak providing the housing isn't damaged.
Will it still build boost? Yes providing the compressor and exhaust housings / wheels aren't damaged.

thank you guys for all the quik replys

i ran into this website: http://www.cxracing.com/mm5/merchant...gory_Code=TOCH

after reading their backround, they are a young and growing company with only 4 years of experience with building turboes, they assure quality products and stand behind it. This Company is based in California. but i'm not sure if the turboes are made somewhere else, if you have any info, please provide.

their cheapest turbo is the T3 T4 T04E CX-R Turbocharger, .50 AR Compressor, .63 AR Turbine, which goes for $200, which seems to be a good deal, anything above this turbo is expensive....

my question is, has anyone else heard of these turboes? any experience with them? quality, based on experience?

i wanna hear replys from people with knowledge with turboes please. thank you

here is a pic of the basic turbo:

i have a friend with a stock ls in his ek thats been boosting 22psi on a cheap 130 dollar ebay turbo for 2 years.

i also have another friend that had one for 3 days and it blew an oil seal.

they are really really hit or miss.

but this is not an ebay turbo, it supposely made here in the USA, and they are of decent quality, so they say.

are you talking about the the chinese turboes?

                    it wasnt that confusing.

cx racing's product quality is about the same as the cheap ones found on ebay.

anyone one else have experience with this turbo(cxracing)?

i need someone else's point of view, remember i asked for exp. with the "CXracing turbo," not the chinese turbo you are comparing it to from ebay.

they're turboes go beyond 600 bucks (but i want the cheapest they have, which is 200 bucks), the kits start at $1200....thats a sign of quality right?

                          Money doesn't always mean quality.
