there is no way a turbo made in the US can be sold for $200 and make money. that turbo is made in china.

Please DO NOT Post In The General Section
From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.
The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.
For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.
Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.
Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

I'm beginning to wonder if you have just been posting for the hell of it today
I've heard good things from people running turbonetics turbos.
Even Bisi is using a Turbonetics on his new build.

Originally posted by weirtech View Postthe amount of manufacturing involved, even when mass produced plus material cost, tooling cost, jigs, fixtures, quality control, everything involved including labor cost... just common sense. there is no way that a part that complex can be manufactured with decent quality in the US for $200. china, sure, no qc, labor cost is peanuts and the materials being used are less than desirable.
Even if the company has to loose money, they have to gain trust from tuners, until they see the quality over the long term, thats when the turbo gets in demand, more demand means the cost of the turbo will increase. thats how it works.
This company is only 4 years old. garret, holset...and other well known turboes have been around for a long time, i know for a fact that garrett has been around for more than 50 years

last night i had a crazy dream, dreamt that i installed my turbo so we got it hooked up and i was about to go feel the power(test drive), I started the car, when shit i forgot to install the intercooler and all the piping
i quikly started to work on it when my alarm went off, i was like, damn i was about to feel that power, funny thing i tried to go back to sleep to continue the dream but no luck
