Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

You could probably do it for that price with an Ebay A2W core, small B&M style oil cooler, rubber hoses with brass fittings, a plastic 5 gallon resevoir, and a small marine bilge pump.

It isn't ideal, I'd suggest at least $300 for a good setup, but it's doable for $150...you just gotta shop around.

So far I'll have to say Frozen boost FTW. I'm going to take pics of the install when I get everything up and going and post them up so we can sticky this type of intercooling F22Turbo702. Also I was wondering if running the Type 117 wouldn't be to bad either? The motor swap allows me the opportunity to make use of a Civc half rad, and I could put that one right up beside it. That way nothing is getting in the way. What do you think?

The Type 117 might work, but if you put it next to the radiator it will be in front of the turbo, which will more than likely heat the water instead of cooling it. I like the Type 118, will fit cleanly behind the stock opening in the bumper and will still allow enough airflow to the radiator.

I can't wait to see the pics.

Actually the turbo wont be right behind the radiator...off to the right and in the back a bit...Bagoon316 knows of my evil plans in the works and now I'll shut up about the motor lol

Water to Air is better thats what I had on my AWD Alltrac. It's all about the placement of the resevior mine was ontop of the engine so it soaked constanly but then its your choice. WTA since if your @ a stop and your A/A you might heat soak!

makes since when I actually THOUGHT about it...water cooling takes a lot more know how...which is making me want it.

we want what's best at least to know what's best

wait wait...soooo...All I need to do this is a second radiator in front of my current one (to cool the water), some fans for that (rad fans), tubing for that...and a big metal/plastic res tank, and a high volume electrical pump...like the one my wife uses in her little garden pond ($30-50 at walmart),

and the one part I would have to have made or purchase from them...is the actual w/a ic...everything else I can make myself yes? and maybe that neato ice box if so desired....am I missing something?

It's not that you've created a monster...you've just enlightened people to a better way. Air-Water intercooling is sort of a hush-hush racer thing, we all know about it...a lot of us run it...but not a lot of people are willing to share their knowledge. It's just starting to gain popularity in daily driven cars, it used to be reserved for race teams with unlimited budgets and space constraints.

I've been planning to run A/W for a while, I just wasn't going to tell anyone until I had some solid results and datalogs to show the differences in intake temps.

I can't wait to see how your setup turns out.
