    Stock EVO9 turbo and manifold?

I've searched and couldn't find a straight answer...but I found a good deal on a fully ported EVO9 turbo, manifold, and O2 housing. I know that this sits opposite of how the DSM turbos sit (compressor sits on the timing side), but I wanted to know if this would fit on the F22a? Would there be any issues with alternator clearance? Has Anyone tried this yet?

I think that a stock EVO9 turbo with the 10.5cm housing would make some good power, especially fully ported...

i almost did the setup. the 9 should come with a 10.5cm hot side, which is a decent size. its also twin scroll so it will spool decent as well. the manifold bolt holes should be the same as dsm the best thing i could tell you is to get a gasket and line it up to f22/h23. if the turbo sits on the 2nd runner over from dizzy side, it should be able to fit. only interference issue will be alternator, but it should clear. then the only thing you have to work on is the dump and how it comes out, my dump on dsm when you rotate the turbo the evo, comes within 1/2" or so to radiator (without fan).

good luck to you, i would also run the 560's that come with the evo as well, instead of 450's.

yeah, I was thinking that the alternator might be in the way, but I have no A/C or P/S so I could always relocated the alternator to where the A/C compressor used to be...

As far as the bolt pattern goes it's the same as the DSM manifold, IIRC.

I think it would be a good setup, should spool quick and still provide good top-end power, especially with the porting that's been done and the 10.5cm exhaust housing.

I was also thinking that later on if I wanted to upgrade, it would be easier because I could use the ATP GT3076R with their speacial turbine housing that bolts to the EVO mani and has a built it v-band for a 44mm wastegate.

Here's a link to the setup I'm looking at.

The reason I'm looking into this is because the EVO manifold flows so much better than the DSM, plus it's twin scroll, and the turbo flows pretty decently.

      Keep the comment coming.

No, they're different, EVO 8/9 manifold is twin scroll, bigger runners, and the turbo sits opposite to the DSM.

Depends on your interpertation on what a "dsm" manifold is...

Was the porting done by xs or is the turbo also from xs power aka ssautocrome aka piece of shit?

Also...fyi an Evo IS a DSM.

DSM would be the 4g63 Eclipse. The EVO 8/9 manifold is not same.

                    EVO 8/9

                    DSM

See the difference? the EVO turbo sits closer to 1 and 2, the DSM turbo sits closer to 3 and 4.

silly boy. XSPower is diff from XSEngineering. gotta read mang. evo may be dsm but there is more r&d in evo setup. twin scroll alone is nice

i dunno, you prob need a alt relocation kit from esp. when i turbo my evo3 around the compreesor inlet is only 1" or so from alt.

First off, you're thinking of the wrong "XS"...this is not from XS Power, SS Autocrap, etc.....this is from XS Engineering, a very well respected tuner in California, they used it for a dyno shootout. As far as I know all the porting was done in house by XS Engineering.

Also, this is an OEM EVO 9 turbo, manifold and o2 housing that have been ported.

And yes, I know that an EVO is a DSM, but for what we're talking about I'm using it merely to differentiate between the usual Eclipse 14b/16g setup and the EVO 8/9 setup.

I see. I thought anything that said XS was the same old crap on ebay. Now I know.

ANd I was just telling you the evo IS dsm just so you could clarify because that's how noobs get the wrong info. You gotta clarify between each, DSM is too vague.

Kyle, your Damians buddy arent you? The one with the SSM 7thgen civic? I think he is getting a deal with Peakboost or something for them to make a kit.
