That would be the same thing as when a dyno shop uses a sniffer.
I don't like to place it there because there are way too many variables. Different resonators will "filter" the afrs differently, as will the mufflers. Don't even get me started on the cats. Those just completely change afr readings as I'm sure everyone knows.
I like to use it on the dyno only when it's the only thing available, but only because I like to look at a graph. If the option of putting it in the downpipe is there, I'll always choose that over this.
