Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Mild F22 Build

I have a F22A1, I am attempting to do a mild build and it will consist of boring .5mm and honing, forged pistons, stock rods and everything else. All this with a evo 16g turbo dsm setup and external wastegate tuned on Hondata S300. I know our ringlands break first and our rods and sleeves are pretty stout but I was wondering with the rebuild.... would you guys suggest changes the bearings or rods bolts or anything else except the gaskets??? Also if you would change the bearings would it be just rods or mains or both and how would you know whether a standard size or over sized. I was thinking same rods would be standard size.
Helpful, insightful opinions please..... That way when people search they won't find unless uninformative threads.

P.S. Off topic but evil I'll hit you for that basemap and how is your wastegate holding up?? PM me
    Thanks

Edit: I hope this is in the right forum if not mods please move

I mean my car has been sitting for a while like a year almost..... so to do things right and not have to go back in, I can wait and get the parts I need if I dont have the money. But I hadnt really gone on a budget

Ok, I'll rephrase my question. How much money do you have right now?

First thing I'd do is collect all the stuff for the turbo kit, then see how much money you have left.

No I have everything I need. I currently have a 14b setup on the car but just started shooting oil through valve cover and lost compression a bit so I just decided to rebuild and caught a deal on the pistons so I bought them but I have everything in my possession or on the car

any time you have the motor apart, you'd be stupid to not do new bearings while you're in there. theres going to be mixed views of reusing headbolts/main bolts, personally i've reused some before multiple times with NO issues whatsoever. go with a good quality headgasket as well, with some permatex copper spray too.

if you didn't get your crank grinded down, your bearings are standard size. you will only need oversize if you get your crank shaved.

If you are going to go to the extent of stripping the block, new pistons etc, Its going to be more worthwhile for you to do the rods as well, don't throw the stock rods back in.
Just for the fact that later on down the track when you decide to get a bit more Hp you will be tearing the block again just to do the rods.

If you need that basemap let me know

Use OEM bearings (new of course) and replace Big ends and Mains.

Do as Mr. Demon has said. Also, I would stick with a Honda Headgasket, as they are actually very good head gaskets. Finally, do not skimp out when it comes to your tune. Once it is done, built and on the road, do not waste time getting your stuff tuned properly. Do you have a good clutch that will handle the increased power? I highly recommend a nice ACT clutch, even though I know the purpose of this thread was not to talk of clutches, it is still important to think about.
