From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Turboed and rad fan not turning on?

So yeah I have a turboed civic. and well it was overheating.. I replaced the thermostat and thought hey that would solve problem which it did.

But here, when i have car on, the Rad fan never turns on at all..... It works if i put the AC on.. but other then that no.

    Why is this?

also its leaking collant all over the place from eaither the rad cap or overfill cap. Not really sure.

it's getting super annoying and i need this fixed?

    any ideas?

theres 2 fans, one for the engine...turns on when engine gets to a certain temp....the other fan comes on when the a/c is on.

Maple - You just posted a thread on going turbo, now I see this . . .
First place to look is your coolant leak - If the radiator fan thermoswitch doesn't have any coolant going over it, it's not going to know how hot it is will it? So it will never switch the fans on (water/coolant induces heat faster than air)
Fix the coolant leak first then diagnose the fans not turning on.

Have you already checked fuses and relays? Thrown power to the non working fan to make sure the motor still runs? Checked to see if it's even plugged in?

Yes its plugged in and like i said it works with the AC so I know the motor is not bad.

you cannot find the leak its eaither comming from the radiator cap or overflow... and i hear boiling in the rad lines.. could it be air?

I mean i have no bleeder for my civic you kinda have to let it run then keepfilling with coolant and let the air come out of cap...

Do you only have one fan? I've got two, one comes on when the AC is on, the other one comes on when the engine gets hot. The AC fan will not come on because the engine gets hot, it's slaved to the AC system to prevent overheating. Check the other one, that's the one you're having problems with.

Sounds like it could be a blown headgasket, or the water pump not cycling the water round if you can feel the coolant boiling/blowing bubbles.

yup prolly blown headgasket causing exhaust gasses getting into the cooling system, causing ur bubbling issue in the hoses, also causing coolant not toget to the switch and turn ur fan on...u can test this with a kit, but i dunno where to get one other than a tool truck like snapon...good luck
