    Turbo/Intercooler Question.

Hey guys, i am asking ppl who have a front-mount intercooler this i guess. How big can u get before u have to start running into problems. I want to go as big as possible. Something like

    22 x 9 x 2.5 will that fit?

also i plan on running a t3 or t4 at around 7psi street and about 10 psi at the track. Should i sleve the block or should the h22 be able to handle it pretty much stock (only other performance is cams and valve springs)

    thanks Deryk

resleeve it bro save your money resleeve and get some low-comp pistons and rods then have a good fmu. Then last but not least have a very good tuner. Because our sleever arent that great for boost thats why i say resleeve it dont kick yourself later on like i should have but didnt That way you can be like well i did do this and that before blahze happened atleast i took precaution. Make sure your shop is a reputable shop too.

the thing is, i am a student, and cash is not a premium. i have been trying to do a 5 speed swap ffor a while now, and have some parts, but money is an issue with school just starting.

i just want a basic turbo kit for my h22, i am gonig to peice is together, but dont really have the money or time to sleeve the block. I heard its expensive, and i dontm have the tools to remove my motor myself.

Do you think a tuned turbo system running at 6-7psi will be ok. Anyone i have talked to around VanCity say it should be no problems. If i dont sleve the block, how long will my engine last. if its running great without sleeving

      sorry for the long post!

You can run it but if you dont have the funds right away I strongly advise you to save up a little bit more than what its worth just incase if something goes wrong. Just make sure you do it right you can boost up to 8psi But i wouldnt go over 7. If you wanna be real safe with it try 6psi.

On top of that make sure whoever is gonna tune it for you sign a waiver before they tiune it and make sure they are a reputable shop before and not some shop thats just out to get your money and fuck you over reguardless so to speak (excuse my french. Now on the other hand you wanna do more boost make sure you resleeve the block and get lower compression pistons and rods to match with some good fuel management like hondata and your good to go with a good tuner that is like im about to do.

oh and to your last question about the boost on how long it will last there are so many factors on that its not even funny cause it depends on

        1) hows was the condition of the motor when you first brought it

        2) how often do you keep maintenance on it like oil changes and stuff

        3) how often do you beat on the car( flooring the car racing often) when you mod any car just about than stock shit will break faster reguardless not as quick as a stock car but hey thats the price you pay for speed.

Hey thanks for the quick response!

BTW, do u know how much it would cost to resleeve, and is there a certain way they should sleeve it? I do have good shop to tune it.

Its called Garage Five in Richmond B.C. canada. good guys, done a lot of work. I dont have the cash now, i want my manual conversion done first and running up to par before i start to peice my turbo set up together, just trying to get some helpful info before i start. Thanks for everything too.

well most shops out here do resleeve but they send it off to the company itself to resleeve it i dont know why but since they are well experienced and sleeving it what the hey . And if theres a problem you can always send it back

You are going to want to use something small like 5" tall. You can do 3" deep and maybe something like 27 or 29" across. More then that and you'll have to mess with the bumper support.

Check ebay there are some decent intercoolers on there that will work great for CB7's. You will have to relocate some things in the front but it'll be worth it. Look for the intercoolers that have brackets to hang off bumper support.
