Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Crome, P06, IAB's and weirdness

So, I've been working on my cb7 and wanted to go as much DIY as I could. I decided to get a wideband and tune with crome free and freelogger.

This has been a slow process as I need to find time for my brother to drive as I use the laptop, but I've basically got the fuel map where I like it.... until....

The other day my brother took the car, maybe a 30minute drive max, and got home and said "the wideband reads 19 basically all the time, unless I floor it, it goes to 15 and then back to 19". WHAAAT????

So I load an earlier map and we go for a drive. I basically end up adding TONS of fuel to the higher vacuum points of the fuel map.

Any ideas? It's been fine since then. Why could it need more fuel all of a sudden? I thought maybe a vacuum leak, but it still idled at 900rpm without any tweaking of that map in that section.

Look at your temperature read outs on free log. If it gets super hot around 210 degrees it could exhibit similar symptoms. In that case you would need to go into the advanced tables and adjust.

Well I don't think it was caused by temperature since he just drove to the store and back within 30minutes. That's barely long enough to get the car warmed up.

IAT and ECT temperature columns are important to check and adjust. It's not always just adjusting the cells.

Could be the age old IAT heat soak issue.. Like skaterdudz mentioned, have a look at the datalog and see what those temps are at
